VARSITY is the University of Cape Town’s official student newspaper. Since 1942, VARSITY has been produced by a collective of dedicated and proactive UCT students. Our aim is to create an informative and entertaining newspaper covering every aspect of student life: from academics and sports, to student politics, current affairs, lifestyle and entertainment. VARSITY Newspaper has established itself as a reputable publication, ensuring that we are consistently at the forefront of news for student events and the city of Cape Town.

This is VARSITY Newspaper's second edition for the year. We bring together contributions from students as well as the VARSITY collective to produce informative, engaging and entertaining content. The newspaper covers news, features, opinions, lifestyle and sport and showcases photography, art and creative writing shared by our readers. Though COVID-19  has shaken our world and brought many challenges, VARSITY has adapted our oprations and in this edition we share news and reflections on how the world is coping and chaning  through this virus.
