Dié uitgawe word opgedra aan julle … die vrouejagters, die vroue ágter jagters, die wildboervroue en die vrouewildboere – ystervroue en meesterkokke, aartsmoeders, jong moeders, moeders van jagters en van môre se wildboere! Sy vat raak en boer saam. In eie reg boer sy. Sy jag saam en onderskraag. In eie reg jag sy. Sy is oral en sy is altyd daar. Hoe dit ook al sy … waar ’n vrou betrokke is, raak dinge gedoen en lyk dit altyd mooi. Sy maak ’n mooi jagfoto, dra ’n mooi jag-outfit, sy maak ’n lekker wildsdis, maak jou plaashuis mooi, orden jou administrasie, en beste van alles … sy maak mooi kinners!

Vroue het nou maar eenmaal net die manier om dinge op te kikker soos ons mans nie kan nie! Kyk nou maar hierdie span van my. Terwyl ek in die bos en in buurlande agter kameras en op stofpaaie vertoef, neem hulle die tydskrif oor en verf hom pienk in Vrouemaand! Ek moet egter bieg – ons vroue doen hul deel in die jag- en wildbedryf. All thumbs up to the women out there! These women hunters and farmers are pretty awesome!

Ek gesels met een só ’n persoon, die alombekende Ellalien Davey wat al die diep spore in die wildbedryf getrap het. Lees op bl 108 oor dié formidabele vrou wat saam met die mans in haar lewe Romaco Ranch tot een van die vooraanstaande wildtelers in die land opgebou het, asook haar enorme bydrae tot die formele strukture in die georganiseerde wildbedryf.
