MAKING MEMORIES

Kevin and I initially met in the Marines. We have been riding together for a few years, and riding BDRs the entire time. Our first attempt at a BDR was in Utah, where we were completely unprepared and significantly ignorant of our capabilities. It led to some interesting moments conquering Lockhart Basin where we developed our backcountry motto: “Less Gear and More Water.” We document our rides on our YouTube channel, “Be Gone for Good.”

A COUPLE'S GUIDE TO RIDIN 2-UP

Pillions don't get the credit they sometimes deserve; they're often referred to as just \"passengers.\" But after riding through the Americas for 20 months, I can confirm that the person riding behind me is much more than a stowaway. She helps to lift the bike after falls and allows me to experience the world and all of its wonders with the one I love. It can also be challenging at times. But, with patience, and maybe a bit of compromise, you and your pillion can be a powerful team able to overcome any challenge.

Serious adventure riders and trainers say if you're going to go off-pavement, particularly in tricky terrain where a drop is likely, it's critical to wear boots protecting your foot and ankle.

Two Wheels in a TIME OF WAR

It started with a phone call from award-winning photographer Kiran Ridley who was working in Lviv during the beginning of the Ukraine war, covering the refugee crisis from the saddle of an old Chinese motorbike. He needed someone to talk to. It was cold and dangerous, and the entire city was on the razor's edge of uncertainty as they prepared for the possibility of a Russian attack.

Dirt on Your Feet More Fun on the Street: Royal Enfield Scram 411

After Royal Enfield's introduction of the Himalayan in 2018, a passionate community of riders grew around its unique style, friendly price point, and go-anywhere prowess. Only four years later, Royal Enfield's introduction of the Himalayan-based Scram 411 continues to build that community giving it an even wider market appeal.

MORE TO MEXICO The Path Less Taken

You could ride through Mexico in a week. Charting the most direct route on Google Maps, you can put together a journey of 2,688 miles comprised of mostly well-paved highway, passing through much of the country but interacting with little of its culture, history, or the people that make it magical.

What Everyone's Been Waiting For 2023 XL750 TRANSALP

Honda's Transalp lineage dates back to the late '80s as the XL600V. We saw the motorcycle only briefly in the U.S., and then it disappeared in the great adventure dual-sport extinction event of the early '90s. Although, some aspects have been carried over from the 700V model, like the large dash area and color options (which we'll discuss later), the all-new platform comes with a host of modern features. So, what's the 2023 XL750 Transalp all about, and how will it stack up against the competition? Let's dive in....
