In this issue

We have a fun issue! If you're into Tri-Five Chevys you're going to love our feature on a local gathering of classic Chevy's on Treasure Island in the heart of San Francisco Bay! We cover our first BIG race since the COVID impact; NASCAR racing returns to the road course at Sonoma Raceway! We take you to Blackhawk for a Ferrari Day. Our project car gets its fuel system updated to handle the new Holley Sniper EFI. Rick Wilson is our feature artist. Then we take you back to San Francisco for a Cars and Coffee on Ocean Beach! Like I said; fun issue!

EFI FUEL SYSTEM INSTALLATION

In the last issue of HOT CARS magazine we installed the heart of our EFI system, the Holley Sniper throttle body.

AUTO ART

My family lived in North Long Beach, CA, so you just KNOW I had a great first half of a childhood right in the middle of Custom Car Land. My first car show was in 1951 at the Pan Pacific Auditorium with my Dad. Larry Watson’s first shop was 3 1/2 blocks from our house.

CLASSIC CHEVYS ON TREASURE ISLAND!

Recently Ron Pfisterer invited me to tag along with him for a Classic Chevy Club gathering on Treasure Island in the heart of the San Francisco Bay. It wasn’t widely publicized, it was just a gathering of locals.

HOT CARS magazine is dedicated to all the car guys out there that enjoy all forms of motorsport. The magazine leans toward the Street Rod and Street Machine styles, but we cover a little bit of everything. We attend events up and down the West Coast bringing you pictures of some of the best cars California has to offer. One weekend we might be at a Goodguys show, and the next weekend at a sports car race. Although these two shows may be as different as night and day, they have one thing in common; great cars and great people. Our feature cars are just as unique. We have featured everything from a sling shot dragster, to a Chevelle “Hatchback”, to a “Rat Fink” style ’34 Ford! Our in house “Project Car” is just that, it’s being built right out in my garage! No “big-buck” project being built at a big name Hot Rod shop somewhere. Just a simple, low buck, nostalgia style, ’30 Ford Highboy Coupe that’s going to see a lot of miles when it’s completed . We’ve got some great regular features; “Auto Art” is dedicated to the great automotive artists out there, each issue an artist shares their work with our readers, “Web Search” is a fun look at some of the neat automotive web sites out there (we review them and give you the URL), “In-Scale” takes a look at the world of model car building with feature cars and kit reviews, and of course, a “Reader’s Rides” page where our readers send in picks of their Hot Rods!
