Komodo is undeniably an island that divers never get tired of. Besides it’s most famous inhabitant, the Komodo dragon, the abundance of life underwater is what draws so many divers to visit it again and again. We then take you to Lombok, a paradise between Bali and Komodo. Lesser known but no longer in the shadow of either, you may find it rewarding to visit this special Balinese cousin and the small gilis that lie around it. Next is the less well known – but equally fascinating – Iriomote, the second largest island in Okinawa Prefecture. Surprising to many, Japan is also home to some great diving, from Hokkaido in the north to Okinawa in the south. Now imagine a liveaboard trip along the Forgotten Islands, which lie above Alor in Indonesia. These islands are delightfully isolated yet with great biodiversity. By way of a contrast, we also look at fresh water diving – lakes and rivers also host a great number of species, far more than you can image. Prepare to be amazed by some bizarre freshwater creatures in Italy. Talking about creatures, some lucky Aussies have discovered a new species of seadragon: the Ruby Seadragon (Phyllopteryx dewysea) in Western Australia. It is indeed not every day that you find a new species. Read on to learn about the magic and beauty of this gem.
