In this issue

The Sailing & Education Issue. In this issue of YACHT STYLE, to accompany the summer season, we celebrate Sailing and everything that surrounds it. Indeed, during a season synonymous with breaking away with family and friends, what better occasion to pause, enjoy and cherish what Mother Nature has given us: sea, sun, wind, … We take a close look in ‘Sails Over Asia’ at how sailing is developing in the region, how local governments, sometimes (or not) fuelled by the success of local heroes at various international competitions, including the soon to come Olympic Games, are launching initiatives and encouraging investment in infrastructures and events. We round up this feature with a mapping of the now well-established year-round Asian regatta circuit. From the majestic Royal Huisman Sea Eagle, recently sold to a Taiwanese owner and for which YACHT STYLE has an exclusive first in Asia, to the high performance Alibi 64 meticulously built in a Thai shipyard, we look at the different facets of what sailing units have to offer. On board a Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 409, we explore the coastline of the Philippines, while Dunia Baru (a 51m phinisi), brings us to the uniqueness of Komodo Island. We were tempted to call this issue the ‘People’s Issue’, as we never gathered so many testimonials in the form of ‘Columns’ from people passionate about a cause (Conservation), what their land has to offer yachtsmen (Thailand) or innovative ways of sailing or owning a yacht. Enjoy the read of this special ‘Sailing and Education Issue’ and remember to follow us on Instagram (@yacht.style), where we have more than 30,000 yacht savvy followers! Happy sailing!
