The conversation of democracy is also examined alongside as we showcase the latest fashion spread (page 132) with four gentlemen to challenge the media’s fixation on youth culture.

While styles like denim have become a staple piece in fashion, the industry itself is becoming more pervasive in making consumers fall victims to trends. The discarding of clothing and threads is an issue today, and we want to be more committed to presenting narratives that push for the appreciation of ateliers and craftsmanship, rather than quick buys. Eyes on the prize, they say. In the wake of global upheaval and the climate crisis, perhaps the prize is a more critical look into sustainability and sustenance — including the emotional and mental aspects of fashion work.

So if reading is fundamental, what Men’s Folio cannot lose sight of is how people want to grow, and what makes sense to learn from in current environments.
