The new normal is looking to be a lot more positive than anyone ever imagined. This is the first solo magazine cover for the society second-gen fashion-beauty influencer and entrepreneur, who speaks to us about stepping out of her mother Jamie Chua’s shadow and coming into her own. This issue, we also put the focus on savoir faire. First up, three interesting entrepreneurs and artisans in their own right tell us how they are shaking up traditional trades and passions with creativity and a new direction. Ikebana, Chinese tea and bird’s nest – you get the idea. Diving further into the subject of know-how, good taste and ingenious artistry, we present this latest season’s collections of designer wear, handbags, jewels, watches and even beauty products. The reads are aplenty, from a feature on Gucci’s reinvention of its iconic bags, to Chaumet’s new Joséphine collection that showcases the maison’s emblematic pear shape, to Cartier’s commitment to its illustrious watchmaking heritage through its new Vintage collection. In our lifestyle section are more stories spotlighting the talent and vision of award-winning Singaporean creatives, namely designer Gabriel Tan and architect Yip Yuen Hong. And inducting you into a hotter and perhaps slightly more sociable season is also a useful primer on champagnes.
