As part of its “Contemporary Artists of Russia” project the Palace of Congresses has exhibited over forty adornments of polymer clays, plastic, nylon, metal and textiles made by Tina Khmelnitskaya. At the exhibition ‘Broadening Horizons: New Age Jewellery’ in the guided tour office the works are divided into several series: “Jewellery Inspired by Great Paintings”, “Ethnography and Cultural Anthropology”, “Napoleon-o-mania and Other Animals”, “Jewellery Should Have a Sense of Humour” and “Mellefeuille”. The artist’s unconventional vision of beauty combined with the use of ‘alternative’ materials enables her to take a fresh look at the wonderful world of women’s adornments. Until 31 January.
