തീർത്ഥാടനപുണ്യം : 
അന്ധകാരത്തിന്റെയും അനാചാരങ്ങളുടെയും പടുകുഴിയിൽ നിന്ന് കേരളീയ സമൂഹത്തെ കൈപിടിച്ചുയർത്തിയ ശ്രീനാരായണ ഗുരുവിന്റെ ചിന്തകളും പ്രവൃത്തികളും വീണ്ടും സമൂഹമനസിലേക്ക് കൊണ്ടുവരിക മാത്രമാണ് ഈ ദുർഘട സന്ധിയിൽ കേരളത്തിന്റെ ഏകരക്ഷാമാർഗം.

ഗുരുവിന്റെ  തീർത്ഥാടന സങ്കൽപ്പം : 
അവനവനെ അറിയാതിരിക്കുന്നതാണ് ആദ്ധ്യാത്മ ദൃഷ്ടിയിൽ ഇരുട്ട്.  ഈ ഇരുട്ടിനെ യഥാർത്ഥജ്ഞാനം കൊണ്ട് ഇല്ലാതാക്കുന്നവനാണ് ഗുരു. അകത്തെ വിളക്കാണ് തെളിയേണ്ടത്, തെളിക്കേണ്ടത്. വിഭാഗീയതയുടെ എല്ലാ മതിലുകളും പൊളിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞ് സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യത്തിന്റെ തിരി തെളിക്കണം. ബുദ്ധിയുടെ തെളിച്ചമോ സാങ്കേതിക ഭാഷാപരിജ്ഞാനമോ അല്ല തീർത്ഥാടനത്തിന്റെ പരമപ്രാധാനമായലക്ഷ്യം അകത്തെ വിളക്ക് തെളിക്കലാണ്. അതിനുള്ള വേദിയൊരുക്കലാണ് ശിവഗിരി തീർത്ഥാടനം.

വെറുതെ ഒരു സ്ഥലത്ത് വന്ന് കുളിച്ച് തൊഴുത് പോകുന്നതുകൊണ്ട് മാത്രം അതിന് ഫലമില്ലെന്ന് ഗുരു പറഞ്ഞു. മറ്റൊരർത്ഥത്തിൽ അതായത് സൂക്ഷ്മമായ അർത്ഥത്തിൽ ഈ ഭൂമിയിൽ വെറുതെ ജനിച്ച് മരിച്ച് പോയതുകൊണ്ട് യാതൊരർത്ഥവുമില്ലെന്നും മനുഷ്യജന്മത്തിന്റെ അപൂർവ്വത മനസ്സിലാക്കി വേണം നാം ജീവിക്കേണ്ടത് എന്നും തീർത്ഥാടനത്തിന്റെ എട്ട് ലക്ഷ്യങ്ങളിലൂടെ ഗുരുവരൻ പറഞ്ഞ് വച്ചു. ആ ലക്ഷ്യങ്ങൾ ഇവയാണ്. വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം, ശുചിത്വം, ഈശ്വരഭക്തി, സംഘടന, കൃഷി, കച്ചവടം,  കൈത്തൊഴിൽ.
