Planet Mercury and Sun in conjunction is a very regular celestial pattern. When observed from the Earth, Mercury is very close to the earth. The maximum distance between Mercury and Sun is only 48 degrees, which is just a sign and half in distance. However, on November 11, 2019, this phenomenon gain a lot of attention. Why was this? As stargazers, astrological students and astronomers looked up the sky, they could see the silhouette of Mercury across the disc of the Sun. At exactly 1235 hrs GMT, Mercury entered the Sun’s disk. The phenomenon was a wonder to watch. At this time, the orbital planes of Mercury and the Earth were almost coinciding and hence this incredible view.
