India Blockchain Alliance was founded on the premise 
that blockchains have the potential to transform many 
aspects of India's financial, social, and governance systems 
in ways that make them more decentralized, open, and 
equitable. Such transformations, however, will affect all 
countrymen and it’s important to ensure that all classes 
of stakeholders (private, public regulatory, academic and 
more) are connected in open conversations about how 
use this science to benefit Indians and build India as a 
leader in blockchain technology. 

I am an HRM professional with 28 years of extensive experience in HRM. Broadly, in Talent Management, Training & Development, Skill Development, Performance Management, Compensation & Benefits, Industrial Relations, Policies & Procedures, Hay Evaluation, Thomas Profiling and Counseling. And specialising in enhancing organizations to develop strategies for their people’s engagement and development.

The healthcare industry is upgrading its services to reach the last miles of the nation. India has recorded several startups that target the population that was left behind in this complete health benefits programme. Female entrepreneurs are leading some of these startups as they have witnessed problems at ground zero level.

I am Dr Chandrashekhar Thodupunuri. I did my MBBS at Prathima Institute of Medical Sciences, and I pursued my postgraduate diploma in clinical cardiology from Apollo Hospital, Hyderabad. I worked at Apollo Hospital, Global Hospital and Archana Hospital as a cardiologist. My career took a significant turn when my child got diagnosed with autism. In pursuit of a solution for her condition, I did a fellowship program at the Medical Academy of Pediatrics, Special Needs in the USA. My research about autism taught me that it is preventable. This possibility made me leave my cardiology career and pushed me into autism research. 

My career in Merchant Navy started in January 1989 as Trainee Nautical Officer. Till 2007 I sailed on merchant ships in various capacities, out of which I sailed as Master (Captain) for 6 years. In 2007, I began my career ashore as I joined Essar Shipping as the Deputy General Manager. In 2010, I joined International Bunkering Middle East as the General Manager, and within eight months, I was promoted and made the Country Head- India Division.

It might sound unbelievable but it’s true. This can give you an idea that how much energy can be saved if we take recycling seriously. Recycling will reduce the amount of landfill waste that is potentially hazardous to the environment. Recycled materials can be cheaper for manufacturers than virgin materials and this can help reduce the cost of those products.

LED bulbs are crucial for the environment as they consume less electricity. The Government of India is promoting the use of LED lights under the Prakash Path programme for efficient domestic lighting.

How can technology assist disabled?


Ear Science, Hearing disability, if managed at the right time, with the right technology and the right medical assistance, there is no reason for an individual to suffer the consequences of hearing disability. Today science has developed to such an extent that almost every individual with hearing difficulty can be helped with hearing technology. It may be via the help of hearing aids, middle ear implants, cochlear implants, or brainstem implants. Results will of course vary depending on how soon the patient takes a decision to seek help. As I said, if an individual is made aware and if we are able to intervene at the right time, hearing loss need not be a disabling condition.


Which hearing aid is best for any particular type of hearing loss and lifestyle?


There is no such thing as the best hearing aid. Every hearing aid will help to a certain degree. However, there are technological differences within hearing aids that offer differing amounts of benefits. If a patient’s lifestyle and hearing needs are limited, for example, able to hear conversations at home a basic hearing aid should suffice. On the contrary, if the patient leads a semi-active lifestyle and steps out of home on a regular basis to places like markets, banks, etc. then a patient will require slightly advanced hearing aids. However, if a patient has very demanding listening needs owing to very active social interactions for example - meetings and group discussions then patient will benefit the most from the latest technology of hearing aids. Technology selection is based not just on patients’ lifestyles but also on their type and severity of hearing loss and most importantly their brain’s ability to filter and process different degrees of hearing loss. So selection of the so-called best hearing aid is not a straightforward process rather it requires a thorough understanding of the patient’s hearing loss, lifestyle, personality traits, and cognitive abilities.
