WhatsApp has been helping people to 
connect and communicate across the 
world. The biggest advantage is the app’s 
encrypted group communication where 
users are free to connect and coordinate 
with a large group of people across many 
big and small companies. Now, WhatsApp 
has announced a way where this group’s 
communications can become smooth and 
streamlined. WhatsApp is bringing 
community features to its platform falling 
in-between robust group chat or a companywide slack. Users will be able to send 
messages to the common big group with an 
option to create smaller subgroups within.

Apple released iOS 15.4.1 to address 
battery drain issues that were plaguing 
iPhone and iPad customers with the prior 
version. Users of tvOS, watchOS, and 
macOS will also receive upgrades from the 
tech giant. iPhone 6s and after, iPad Pro 
(all models), iPad Air 2 and iPad 5th 
generation and later, iPad mini 4 and later, 
and iPod touch are all compatible with iOS 
15.4.1 and iPadOS 15.4.1. (7th 
generation). The update includes a number 
of important bug fixes for your device which 
includes battery damage issue and more. 
Apple also released macOS Monterey 
12.3.1 alongside iOS 15.4.1. To begin 
with, the update resolves the issue of 
USB-C or Thunderbolt external displays 
failing to turn on when attached to the Mac 
Mini (2018) as a secondary display. The 
second bug update in macOS Monterey 
fixes an issue where Bluetooth devices like 
game controllers would detach from 
customers’ Macs after listening to music 
using Beats headphones. Aside from bug 
fixes, macOS Monterey 12.3.1 also 
addresses two security concerns.

Google’s Play Pass subscription service, 
which allows users to access many of the 
top Android apps and games without 
having to deal with adverts or in-app 
purchases, has finally arrived in India. 
In September of this year, the service 
made its debut in the United States. 
Android users in India may now try Play 
Pass for a month for free before subscribing 
for Rs 99 per month. There’s also a yearly 
plan for Rs 899, as well as a monthly 
prepaid plan for Rs 109. Using Google 
family group, family managers will be able 
to share their Play Pass subscription with 
up to five additional family members. In 
some ways, it is to apps what Netflix is to 
films and shows — a paid service that gives 
users access to content. Although it is still 
in its early days, Google Play Pass could 
change the way we download apps and 
games in the future

Samsung Galaxy S20 FE, since its launch, 
has reportedly sold more than 10 million 
units globally. Also known as Samsung 
Galaxy S20 Fan Edition, the smartphone 
was launched back in September 2020. 
However, it did not drive sales for the 
company as its launch was followed by the 
spread of the Covid-19 on a global scale, 
leading to a pandemic. With new sales 
milestone, the Galaxy S20 FE has reportedly 
become one of the best-selling Galaxy 
smartphones of the company over the past 
year. The previous reports from US carriers 
confirmed that the S20 FE was one of the 
most popular devices by consumer interest 
after its launch. During the summer, reports 
predicted that the South Korean tech giant 
had amassed 13.5 million sales of its 
flagship Galaxy S21 series. According to a 
Counterpoint report, by grabbing 20 
percent of the market and holding over 69 
million units, Samsung beats other popular 
companies such as Apple, Xiaomi, Vivo, 
Oppo and others.

The Facebook Company is now ‘Meta’. On
October 28, Facebook went live with a
major rebrand that included changing the
corporate of the company to Meta. From
now on, the world will know Facebook as
‘Meta’. CEO Mark Zuckerberg introduced
Meta at Connect 2021 which brings

Google recently announced the launch of 
Pixel 5a (5G) in select countries around the 
globe. The company also gave a glimpse of 
its upcoming Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro via its 
online Google Store in the US. The 
smartphone maker has now confirmed that 
it has discontinued its Pixel 4a 5G and 
Pixel 5 smartphones. Both the phones are 
out of stock on the Google Store in the US

Apple has brought its ‘Back to School’ 
discount programme to India, around a 
month after it was launched in the US. The 
offer is currently available only with Apple 
Online Store in India. The offer provides 
discounts and many other benefits to 
school and college students, their teachers 
and parents at registered institutions. 
Under the ‘Back to School’ programme, the 
biggest offer is that buyers can get a free 
second-generation Apple AirPods with any 
model of iPad Air, iPad Pro, MacBook Pro, 
MacBook Air, iMac, Mac Pro or Mac mini.
