To begin with, it is spared the commercial burdens of its predecessors and keenly strives to uncover the hidden gems of India’s Orient in the form of Odisha, West Bengal, Bihar and Tripura in the form of ten diverse features. Supplementing them, are three cultural and lifestyle features from the states of Rajasthan and Gujarat. Further, Issue 6 exceeds its imperatives to interpellate a readership by also encouraging a talented fleet of authors and contributors to grace the platform with their distinct writing styles. It has been a heartwarming experience for me to delve Eastwards with an active engagement between its indigenous voices. 

In all, its resolve to transcend boundaries that are both geographical and representational, Issue 6 is so much more than the playful cover and layout that meets the eye. On that note, I will leave you to engage with this viridescent bind. Like its dominant colour, may Issue 6 infuse you with freshness that is resounding of a not-so-distant land that we are just beginning to scratch the surface of, and how we gasp and marvel as we do.

This February, Rajputana Collective completed two years since its inception and is rolling out its fifth issue with the same dedication and zest that produced the first. Only this time, the advantage of experience and hindsight is made more apparent through an increasingly perceptive collection of articles. 
In its special feature titled Bikaner: The Desert Solitaire, issue five extends a special tribute to the 500 year-old legacy of Rao Bikaji and bears the privilege of showcasing exclusive features on Baijilal Rajyashree and Baijilal Siddhi Kumari of Bikaner. Bound with this theme is an article on Narendra Bhawan the Royal Escapades section, which also happens to be the authorial debut of Diviya Kumari of Jubbal. Neha Kirpal features as the second guest author of the issue by sharing a mystical piece on musical dedications made to the rain by the Manganiyars of Rajasthan. 

Alongside a renewed focus on the Rajput community’s youth talent, issue five also features Manvendra Sinh Gohil in an exclusive opinion section. Keeping in mind the recent Supreme Court judgement that defanged section 377 of the Indian Penal Code, the timing of Gohil’s gender intensive piece is as deliberate as it is pertinent.

Taking its predecessor’s legacy forward, Edition 4 of Rajputana Collective displays an ever-increasing array of sections that cover highly diverse topics of reader interest through 17 vibrant sections.
