The Progressive Curriculum Management Council, Kochi (PCM) does yeoman service in the field of education for the last three decades. And PCM felt the pulse of the children and realized that something had to be done to rekindle the reading habit in children. Keeping this in view, a small beginning was made in 1991 by publishing a fortnightly for children. This publication underwent many changes in size and appearance and gave birth to the present day The Children’s Magazine. The very fact that the publication in English for children is in print for more than two decades is a testimony to its readability and acceptance by children and their parents. The magazine focuses children in the age group of 4-9 years. The magazine has wide readership in length and breadth of India. With every issue we try to make the language simpler. The print is easily readable on good quality paper. Stories are written by eminent children’s story writers and carry plenty of attractive illustrations. There are articles that help enhance the knowledge of children. There are plenty of activity pages for children to work on. It also features picture stories. Without modesty, we wish to say that the magazine helps children learn correct English language. In spite of the daily increase in the prices of all consumables including good quality paper, wages and remuneration to all those who support the magazine with their contributions in various fields, the magazine is very reasonably priced.
