Cruising Heights December 2018 issue concentrates on how aviation infrastructure - or rather the lack of it - could be a major hindrance to the growth of aviation in the country. The cover story looks at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport that remains constrained for slots even though it created a record of logging the highest number of flights from an airport with a single runway. The magazine also looks at the ups and downs in the Jet Airways saga as well as two airports in the world: one of them the world's largest at Istanbul that was recently inaugurated and the other one in Mexico that has become the focus of a political battle even before construction could start. Also a major focus on the LEAP engine. On July 13, 2008, GE Aviation and Safran Aircraft Engines, partners in the 50/50 CFM International joint venture, made aviation history by launching the advanced LEAP-X engine programme.
