Well we are back. Another issue packed with lots of positivity and unique vision as envisaged by Pujya Dadashri. During summer vacations we all must have spent a lot more time at home which might have led to tiffs and arguments with our parents `Gnani with Youth'  highlights the sacrifices and obligations of our parents and our moral duties towards them. The cover story  and the subsequent teachings of Dadashri gives us keys to how easily we can overcome the burden of negative thoughts we might be harboring for some friend or acquaintance. `AkrampediA',  this time around it deals with the topic of 'Clashes', its consequences and hoe to avoid them.

What would be an ideal day in your opinion? Waking up early,
exercising, reaching college in time, finishing off assignments before
deadline, taking out time for doing household chores; these activities
however important, are never achieved in time as we are too lazy. Don't we
all commonly say, “I am bored”?
All great people, over many generations have cautioned us against
the ill-effects of laziness. This form of behaviour is so common that we do
not hesitate in admitting to being lazy moreover, many of us boast about it
too. However, once you know the evil effects of laziness and find simple
solutions to overcome these, I am sure all of you will resolve to get rid of this
quality of being unwilling to work despite having the ability to do so.
Dadaji used to say, “To remain lying on thorns (kanta) is called
boredom (kantado)”. In this issue, we have tried to show various facets of
this quality with ways of overcoming it. One can then decide, what would be
the better option, turning in a late submission and getting a scolding from
your teacher or completing it on time and enjoying the satisfaction of having
completed it.
Hopefully, you can relate to situations in this issue and find interesting

Hello friends,
Arguments or quarrels happen naturally. They happen with our friends and
parents on trivial issues. We think, “I am not doing anything wrong anywhere and
don't I have a right to live my life as I please?” With such thoughts, do we ever realise
that knowingly or unknowingly we may be making mistakes?
Have you ever given it a thought? No problem. This issue will help you in
realising your mistakes that are entwined with your daily routine, but you are
unaware of; and when awareness comes you have no idea about what to do next. In
this issue, lets discover, what the reasons for arguments can be? To what extent can
the results of arguments be unpleasant? What sort of understanding can we set
beforehand to avoid arguments? During an argument, what sort of master keys can
we use to remain calm? What can we do after an argument has happened? We will

Dadashri says, “We should become argument-proof. By becoming 'argumentproof',
we can survive in this world. I will make you 'argument-proof'. We should be
such a person that even an argument initiator would get tired. Nobody in this world
should be able to depress us. Once we have become 'argument-proof', then is there
any problem? Even if people want to quarrel or abuse, then we should not find it
problematic. If we do not pay attention to the argument, we will not be considered
discreditable, in fact our (spiritual) awareness will increase greatly.”
To develop many such understandings, let us enjoy this issue.

Friends, whenever we are trying to achieve something, attain peak of success 
in life or try to enjoy small or big occasions, at that time we seek understanding from 
successful and great people regarding what it is they did to be successful. While 
reading their autobiographies we get to understand the keys of their successes. One 
such key is - their cultivated qualities. Out of these cultivated qualities "humility" 
stands out and we will discuss it in this issue. What is humility? What are its effects in 
our lives? And how did great people develop this quality? What is humility in the eyes 
of Dadashri? How can one progress from being egoistical to humbleness, to fulfil their 
dreams of success or to live life happily? Let's strive to understand and experience 
Dadashri's principles and follow him on every footstep of life.

Imagine you had a quarrel with a close friend of yours. You sort out the issue
with the person and plan to start everything anew, but hold on, at night when you
finally decide to go to sleep, negative perpetuating thoughts haunt you over and
over, and you can barely sleep. Now what?
Imagine that your exams are approaching and you feel aimless and stressed
out, you want to get over with it, but when you start your preparations for the same,
you are not focused at all. What should be done in such case? Some things just don't
leave us; they build up over time and become stronger which does nothing but leave
you helpless. Did you find any of the above situations relatable?

Spirituality is knowing about 'who you are' and 'who actually runs this world'.
Spirituality leads towards a life of equanimity. Spirituality is finding yourself and living
a life in a way that minimal or no karmas are bound, because good or bad karmas bind
us and do not allow us to achieve salvation.
Dadashri has said that if one wants to follow the path of spirituality, three habits
are a complete no-no. Alcohol consumption or any form of intoxication, eating nonvegetarian
food and having immoral sex.
In this issue of Akram Youth, we delve deep into knowing the reasons why we
should refrain from eating non-vegetarian food. We will understand as to why eating
such food kills spirituality. How does the eating of non-vegetarian food hamper our
spiritual goals to the limit that Dadashri does not take responsibility for guiding the
non-vegetarians towards salvation?
There are also many questions of youth like 'Can we eat eggs, if not more?',
'Killing for eating is a fact', 'Is there a difference between the life in a plant and the life
in an animal?', etc.
We hope this issue answers all your questions and gives you a spiritual insight
on why we must eat vegetarian food.

What is an addiction? Any work which is unnecessary, still without control,
willingly or unwillingly, keeps going on, then it is termed as an addiction.Can't live without a particular
thing/person? Can't live without having
particular thoughts? Well, all these are
addictions! If we can't live without a
particular thing or a product then it
means that we have become slaves of
that commodity. Addiction to these
commodities can be in two ways. One
can be an addiction for toxic products
such as tea, coffee, tobacco, alcohol,
drugs etc. or else one can also be
addicted towards consumption of
sweets, fried snacks, junk foods etc. If
one feels restless unless he consumes a
particular product, he has become a
slave of that particular thing. Similarly,
one may get agitated if there are no
comforts like air conditioner, lights,
fans, vehicles or other appliances
available, Even this means that we are a
slave of such comforts. Since last
decade, the mobile phone is added to
this list. We have become dependent
on mobile phone and social media for
pleasures.

similarly, mobile phone has certain
advantages but it has disadvantages
too, so one needs to be alert about its
use. In this issue, let us understand in
detail the symptoms of mobile
addiction, its negative impacts, and
solutions to overcome it.

The entire world is in search of purity. 
Individuals ask for pure things, people, food, water and
even the air. Nobody chooses impurity.
Have we ever given it a thought of how
pure are we? How is purity important for
us in order to move forward in relative as
well as the spiritual world? According to
Dadashri's viewpoint, for daily life, the
purity of lakshmi (money), pride and
vishay (sexual relationship) have
received importance. The principles of
purity were so deeply embedded in
Dadashri's life that in religion, business,
married life and matters of moneyvishay-
pride he always remained pure
which exhibited an ideal behavior to the
world. Dadashri used to say that if one is
pure in worldly interactions, doesn't
have a single thought related to vishay
and kashay and is completely detached
from 'want' of everything then only the
world can be understood in its real form.
However, in the current time cycle
(kalyug) where people do not have
harmony in thoughts, speech, and body,
people cannot remain in purity even if
they have best of the intentions (bhaav)
to do so. Hence Dadashri has rightly
elucidated “So much of pure you are,
that much of world is yours”. Let us
understand Dadashri's principles of
purity and take steps towards achieving
purity in life.

The Indian culture is as old as the human civilization itself. The cherished
Indian society has its vibrant culture as its beating heart. India is beyond the
majestic temples and the breath-taking Himalayas, the politics, Bollywood
or even cricket. The colourful traditional festivals, the folk dances, rituals, the
dialects and deeply rooted values show the cultural diversity of this huge
democracy. The morals and the spiritual knowledge which has been passed from
generation to generation is an invaluable asset this country owns as its proud
possession. One of such cultural heritage is the science of Yoga, which is not
merely a physical exercise, it has a spiritual core too. This art has now been
recognised on an international level; UNESCO has recognised it as an Indian
Intangible Cultural Heritage.
Among so many other rich traditions that have been followed over the period of
hundreds of years, ‘Ashram’ is one among them. ‘Ashram’ is another such unique
concept, wherein, a group of people lived while following a certain lifestyle
through the four stages of a human life, the primary goal of these Ashrams was the
development of self. This issue highlights this interesting Indian culture.
Here is the second issue on the cultures of India, with again so many more

rebirth, the science of karma and much more. People
have a rich heritage of culture and a firm belief in the
karmic account.

The meaning of ‘make-up’ in general terms is limited to, ‘an opportunity to
portray an ugly person or item as beautiful’. But in reality, ‘make-up’ can also
be called deceit and this plays many other roles in our lives.
Like hiding one’s mistakes in such a way that nobody finds out. An instinct to
be selfish for personal gain and not think about another’s benefits. Striving
to hide one’s thoughts, psychological effects on face or in behaviour, etc.
For centuries mankind has been successful in deceiving each other by
wearing various types of masks. At times consciously or unconsciously, while
changing appearances sometimes or behaviour at other times. In this issue,
let’s understand ‘make-up’ as deceit from Dadashri’s viewpoint. So come,
lets enjoy the journey depicted in this issue.

How words to do talk? How many words do you speak? What is the style of your conversation? In determining your personality, language plays a very important role. From the moment one wakes up till the moment one goes to sleep, everyone continuously uses language. And some people even babble in their sleep. In the life of mankind, language was introduced around 15,000 years ago! With words, you can rule the world. Also, with words you can convert a friend into an enemy and an enemy into a friend. If you want to be successful in life, then believe the world visualizes you through the spoken word. You are measured through whatever deeds you perform. The consequences from language emerge in two ways. Either sweet or bitter. Sweetness is easily digestable however bitterness doesn't go down easily. Gnani's provide us with understanding that enables us to remain in equanimity during both sweet and bitter consequences. Relevant to today's time cycle, Pujya Dadashri has given principles that are relevant to speech while conducting worldly interactions and executing moral duties.

Have we ever thought about what is
considered a human life lived
well and attaining the goal of human life? Is
it in fame, recognition, reputation, earning
money or anything else? Our duty should be
towards our parents, elders and teachers
rather than serving the self. Do you agree?
How can one forget the benevolence of our
parents, elders and teachers, etc. in our life?
How can we pay back that benevolence?
Every religion talks about only one thing:
Serving them is one’s moral duty and thus
one can pay back their benevolence and
kindness. True humanity or religion of
mankind is that our life should blossom by
rendering seva-service to others, by giving
happiness to others.
Gnani Purush Dadashri says, “If
you want happiness open the business of
happiness. In addition, render the service to
your parents, elders and teachers without
kashayas: anger-pride-deceit-greed, and
without any expectation.”
Everybody perhaps may not get the
chance to serve his/her teachers or gnani,
but everybody gets a golden chance to serve
his/her parents and elders. We just don’t
want to serve our parents and elders, but
we want to win their heart, we want to win
their trust. It is with their blessings, we will
achieve success in life, we will be happy and
tranquil.
In this issue of Dadavani, Dadashri
gives extraordinary clarifications regarding
various facets of seva service, which will be
helpful to mold our mind-speech and body
for this.

Commitment is the giving of ourselves or surrendering to what we most believe
in. At this stage, our intentions, words and actions function in coordination with
our ideals to help us deliver desired results.
   Generally, individuals refuse to accept anything less than the best from
themselves and consequently from others as well. To achieve their best, commitment
is essential. Hence, it is a significant aspect of one’s life that cannot be neglected.
   This then raises various questions. What am I committed to? Is this an
appropriate commitment? Am I over or under committed? Is there another dimension
or version to this commitment? And have we adopted the correct way forward for
achieving our goals?
    Answers to all questions have been knitted in the articles presented within
this issue and pray they help you progress in the path of your commitment.

This month, we are going to have a special experience. It is like swimming
against the tide. We are going to discuss about Celibacy (Brahmacharya), the most
powerful weapon in our armoury, which can protect us from falling in the deep trap
of Lust (Abrahmacharya), the root cause of all worldly problems. Value of Celibacy is
imbibed in our ancient culture also. In the Ashram system (four age-based life
stages), the first Ashram, the stage of youth, is called the Brahmacharya Ashram. It
requires a certain discipline, guidance and purity for full flowering of the youth.
Though importance of Celibacy has been accepted in all religions, its true
understanding has mostly remained elusive. In absence of such knowledge, we
helplessly get dragged in the whirlpool of lust. Due to the bad influence of time, not
only is there a continuous, non-stop attack of Abrahmacharya-related stuff on
individuals throughout the day but nobody even thinks that there is anything wrong
in it. Today's youth do not know how harmful and dangerous the results of
Abrahmacharya are, which is nothing but an illusion. Pujya Dadashri has described
Abrahmacharya as a heap of filth. This illusion of pleasure has sunk great saints and
masters from tremendous spiritual heights.
For the youth, Abrahmacharya related thoughts are most damaging for
focus and concentration. Therefore, it is very important that their attention remains
on academic and career goals since these efforts will lay the foundation for success
in life.
In this month's issue, we have tried to introduce the sensitive subject of Celibacy
with an honest intention that today's youth get an opportunity to think a while
before being drawn into the ocean of illusionary pleasure of lust.

One thing we surely share in common is us unreasonably fearing or being
tensed about something unimportant. Then we have this sudden realization that it
was not worth thinking about it either. And it all actually started with a small-thingdisturbing-
hugely: Suspicion. Will I pass this test or will I be able to get this job or
what if my daughter is having an affair with someone? is there anything we do not
suspect and fear about? This actually demonstrates how we leave behind all the
charm and fun we actually we're supposed to have. A characteristic of a puzzled
body is being suspicious over everything which instills fear in him, Dadaji says“
Suspicion and fear are like cause and effect. A single seed of suspicion grows into
jungle, Sometimes suspicious thoughts may arise within you and if these thoughts
are allowed to linger, even for a short while, they will reach the opposite person and
proliferate.” We never thought of this ever before we suspected something or
someone. This issue is all about the topic, how it is better to avoid suspicion and

present, and it is this awareness that is required for staying in the present.

We have never given a thought to what we take for granted.

Dear Friends,
Today, we are obsessed with technology, and so dependent upon it. We
become furious if our gadgets, don't perform as we expect them to. Many
times, it isn't the fault of the device, but instead our own lack of
understanding of its operating system. That's why, when we buy a new
product, we're given an instruction manual and perhaps even a
demonstration of how to use it - allowing us to get the best results from our
new device.
But, in life, we get neither a manual nor an orientation in how to get
the best out of our precious human birth. More often than not, we don't
know how to handle situations, so we get frustrated, angry, elated, etc.
Many times, we feel helpless, doing things we don't want to do, - even after
making a strong resolution not to. Why is this?
Dadashri has said that whatever we do, or experience, through the
five senses, happens first within, and is then manifested outside. Life will
become simpler as well as happier if we come to understand the process of
functioning of the subtle body and the external body. This Akram Youth
edition addresses the science of internal engineering, inner psychic
organs, or "Antahskaran" – information that the whole world is in search
of, and which was fully revealed by Dadashri.
After learning how the Antahskaran functions, one can easily
progress on one's chosen path without getting distracted by unfavorable
circumstances.

“Jagatma pride na hot to ahnj moksh hot”( Had there been no issue of pride in this world, salvation would have been attained right here and now.) This famous line by Srimad Rajchandraji is a testimony to the fact that pride is one of the main root causes of our life problems and tensions. All Gnani's have the same viewpoint. Similarly, Dadashri has referenced that Appride acts likes a vitamin, whereas pride functions like a source of food.
There are many types of pride. Let's learn what is pride and what are the various types of pride. Let's also learn from Srimadji's life experience how pride hinders our growth.
Once we've decided that pride is not helpful, let's walk the road to Purity in Jagatkalyan. Dadashri refers to purity in Jagatkalyan as purity in Vishay, Laxmi and pride. Let's learn the ways to be pure.
Along the way in life, the intellect weighs profit and loss. Almost everyone believes that it is beneficial if one's pride is upheld in worldly interaction. Whereas Dadashri says, “It is indeed the insult that is very beneficial.” Respect and insult are the sweet and bitter interests (rasa) of the ego. Many people have faced Appride and used it as a stepping stone to achieve excellence in their lives. Knowingly or unknowingly, every living being is always in search of happiness.All 
our efforts throughout our life are towards achieving this single goal: to
be happy. There is nothing wrong in that. But how many of us are really
happy? Are we moving in the right direction in our pursuit of finding happiness?
These days, we see many young boys indulging in smoking or chewing tobacco or
drinking, some just for fun and many to relieve so-called stress, unmindful of the
consequences he or she will have to face in future. These youngsters initially do not
realise that it will be very difficult to return from the path they are taking. The irony is
no one realises or listens to anyone before he becomes an addict. By the time they
realise this truth, it is too late. The most important consequences of addiction are
social, emotional and even financial losses. The very things which he thought will
give him happiness become the sole reason for his misery and slavery. Freedom, we
all know the meaning of this word. Rather, we all want it in our life. We consider
freedom to be one of the most essential attributes of happiness. But we feel pity
when some of our friends try to find happiness by trading their freedom. How one
can be happy being a slave? It is slavery of a different kind.
Friends, we should have sympathy towards them. This month's Akram Youth is
dedicated to those of our friends who are fooled by the myth that smoking,
consuming tobacco and alcohol, playing mobile games or any such means give
happiness. It rather ruins our and our loved one's lives. In the following pages, we
will not only discuss the social evil of addiction in detail but will also get Dadashree's
right understanding to break free from the shackles of slavery called addiction and

We do see in this worldly life that
many people have tons of money
whereas there are others who have no
money even after toiling hard day and
night. Now, what might be the reason,
the secret behind this? Everyone has a
need of money. Nevertheless, how can
one comprehend the deep secrets of its
coming and going through ordinary
worldly vision? Except the experienced
Gnani who can give exact understanding
concerning the inflow and exit of
money, and the proper interaction with
money in worldly interaction? The great
Gnani Purush Dadashri of this current
time cycle used to say that money is the
centerpiece of all worldly interactions.
Therefore, one should never fail to show
respect and humility towards money.
One must never have contempt towards
money. If you want to make money-
Lakshmiji (Goddess of wealth) happy
then you should develop a love for
Narayan (the Lord within all). “Money is
not an absolute truth it is a relative
truth.” Money does not come due to
intellect; it comes because of one’s
merit karma. There is an inflow and an
outflow of money, and this is under the
authority of nature. With pure and right
money, one can have peace and
happiness in his life. One can only earn
money that is rightfully his, he cannot
take wrong and impure money. It is
called punya (merit karma) when you
spend money towards a worthy cause.
In order to bring Laxmiji (Money)
in our life, Dadashri says there are some
l a w s w h i c h a r e t o b e f o l l o w e d .
Everything in life is scientific and if you
break these laws,Laxmiji will surely
avoid you. So, what are these laws? Let
us look at them...

uttering praises for Dada; we heave a sigh of
happiness as if we have met our own mother;
thereafter whenever we are overcome with any
difficulty, we remember Niruma and at once
seek solace. These are a few instances, but
meeting Niruma, or spending time with Niruma,
and the experience gained cannot be explained
in words!
On meeting Niruma, if the general public enjoy
such experiences, just imagine what must be
condition of the celibate brothers and sisters
who reside in the Mission (sankul), constantly
showered by Niruma's love and care.
Further, Niruma's method of molding
character, her affection, her heartfelt wishes,
her mental attitude as to how should her 'sons
and daughters' be; such questions may arise in
our mind. In this issue, let us understand how
Niruma used to mold each 'child'.
After Niruma's 'samadhi maran' (Blissful death), a 5-year training course (Aptasinchan)
has been conducted for salvation of the world. Whoever practices strict
Bramcharya (celibacy) and wants to dedicate himself/herself to this Mission may join.
Niruma used to do similar Apt-sinchan for her Apta-putras and Apta-putris naturally.
So, let us understand Niruma's Apta-sinchan, as well as how she used to train and
shape the Mission.

Each person lives his or her life,
but an ideal life is the one that is 
lived devoid of clashes.
In this day and age, there is plenty
of variety of food and drink, comfort
and prosperity are also abundant. Yet,
what are the reasons for clashes,
quarrels and suffering that happen in
one's life? You could say that the main
reason for a life full of suffering is a lack
of right understanding! “You yourself
(through your lack of right
understanding) are the root cause of
your suffering!” Our greatly revered
Dadashri's scientific erudition! That
shows us in depth, the reasons for all
suffering, which would never occur to
anyone!
Therefore, you have to understand
the world. Not with your own
viewpoint, but through the Gnani
purush's insight! He will reveal the
reality of the world's existence, the
factual nature of the world (a farreaching
insight), whereby there will be
no quarrels, suffering, violence,
difference of opinions, so everyone's
well-being will be taken care of.
So let's take our first step onto a
path free from clashes, as shown by
Dadashri's point of view, from his deep
and unique insight…

Those who are straightforward
(compliant) and simple achieve
straight and simple liberation. For
any man who comprehends these
statements of such a Gnani Purush, his
liberation becomes easy. Gnani Purush
Dada Bhagwan says that obstinacy is an
obstruction in the path to liberation,
and if one can straighten out, then one
can become God. One has to become
straightforward (compliant or
compromising)to attain moksha /
happiness, either through our own
understanding or after taking a beating
from others.
If you admit to your obstinacies,
they will diminish, but if you deny them,
they will become stronger. You can only
win over obstinacies by acknowledging
and then 'seeing and knowing' them.
When a true statement that is
satisfying to the heart is not accepted,
that, absolutely is the nature of
obstinacy. Obstinate people behave
according to their own opinions.
Obstinacies end in those who behave
according to The Gnani's opinion.
Obstinacy arises in making others
bend according to your will. By bending
according to the will of others,
obstinacies come to an end.
The finest qualities of the prakruti
(the innate nature of one's relative Self)
are freely available to everyone on the
path to liberation. These qualities are
ultimate humility, extreme simplicity,
spontaneous forgiveness, and total lack
of obstinacy. These qualities can be
regarded as the measures of spiritual
progress.
So come on, in this issue, let us all
understand the different types of
Obstinacies (stubbornness) in all
circumstances and all the situations. Let
us learn how to leave our obstinate
behavior behind easily and be on the
straight path to liberation!

"How can we be Happy? This is a topic which is well researched by many. A 'Jeev',
(a life form) from the very beginning of its existence, is in pursuit of just one thing…
Happiness. People do certain things in life believing that the activity will bring them
happiness. But because the activity or the path chosen, is not the real path as shown
by the Gnani, their happiness is short-lived, and 99 times out of a 100, that same
activity, ends up making them unhappy.
So, how can one truly be happy? Let us ask Dadashri. Dadashri says that the best way
to find true or real Happiness, lies in realizing one's own 'Self' (soul). Also, by applying
the 'right understanding', in every situation in life, one can very easily be happy.
Dadashri has given us many simple keys to happiness. In this issue, let us learn 5 of
them…
Staying in the present is Happiness. Gratitude is Happiness.
Encouragement is Happiness. Forgiveness is Happiness.
Helping others is Happiness.
Using these keys are the best and the simplest way to be happy. If we use these
keys, it will be almost impossible to be unhappy, or, for anyone to make you unhappy.
So, let us learn more about happiness, and choose the right path to be happy and
spread happiness to all!"


"A right understanding of Paap & Punya is being imparted in India to people right
from infancy. When a small kid hits a mosquito the mother will immediately shout at
him in anguish, “No, don't kill mosquito. You will charge paap karma”. You should act
like this or shouldn't do that because you will charge paap karma is heard quite often
since childhood days. At times, people cry in sufferings and ask the All Mighty, “ O
God, I don't know what evil (paap) karma have I charged that I am being punished as
such?” If good things happen, one says, “I am really punyashali.” So the words punya
& paap are generally used by people in normal life.
Let alone India, the concept of paap & punya is being accepted world over. Even
the ways are shown how to escape from it's affect.
But what's the authentic defination of paap-punya? What is true
understanding? Who can be termed a real punyashali? Can paap & punya be
accountably adjusted from one another? How a Karmic Balance sheet look like? How
to escape from ill effects if one has accumulated paap karmas?
In this issue let us obtain proper solutions for these questions..."


"There are 5 major weaknesses of a
human personality, namely Krodh
(Anger), Ma an (Pride), Ma y a
(Illus ions ), Lobh (Greed) and Moh
(Attachments). This issue is dedicated to understanding the basics of Greed. As per Dadashri, this is a weakness which is the first to manifest within us and the last to leave us.
It is a sweet weakness. This means that we do not know about its existence. It appears to give us maximum happiness, but in turn, becomes the foundation for most of our
unhappiness.
Let us study what is Greed, the science
of Greed and the ways to eliminate or reduce Greed… thus increasing our happiness.
Greed means a strong desire to
possess what rightfully belongs to
others. It makes an individual selfish and self- centered. It takes a person away from his religious and social duties. A person can become blind with greed if an effort is not made to control the desire for unlimited possessions.
Dadashri has explained in detail
some more basic traits of human
personalities. For example, Karkasar
(thrift, frugality, economy), Lobhi
(greedy), Lafo (spendthrift), Kanjoos
(miser or stingy), Jhino (minuteness,
subtlety; acuteness of intellect). Let us
understand more about these traits and let us conceptualize how a perfect
personality should be.
