October issue of Kairos welcomes the readers to the month of Rosary Devotion and accounts the inspiriting experiences of ‘Nalla Ayakaran’ Project initiated by Jesus Youths in and around Kerala. 
The call of every Christian, especially the religious to strive to imitate Christ.  However, the fall of these people, does not, in any way affect the original Glory of Christ or His Catholic church. Sasi Immanuel, in his cover story, points out to the readers that since God doesn't abandon us by our faults and weaknesses, the faults and weakness of others cannot lead a true believer to abandon God or Church.
Bobby Thomas interviews former Jesus Youth International Coordinator and the P.R.O of Kothamangalam Forane, Adv. Raiju Varghese, who was also one of the leaders who heralded the ‘Nalla Ayakaran’ project all over Kerala, about his view of life and experiences in the Jesus Youth movement and beyond.
Cover stories by Sajan C. A ., Berly Earnest, Martin Cherthala, Saji Paniyarkutty, Augustin Xavier, Jesbin Erthiyil, and  Ginish Francis describe the various encounters of the volunteers and organisers of ‘Nalla Ayakaran’ project and how they were able to help and comfort multitude of people afflicted by the recent massive floods that traumatized  Kerala.
Dr. Edward Edezhath’s segment Inalae Innu expresses the relevance of teams and ministries in the Jesus Youth movement. The issue also includes an article by Adv. Johnson K.J.  on the World Meeting of Families that was held in August, 2018, and a heart warming experience by Gloria Thomas.

As Kerala painstakingly recovers from the floods that appalled her recently, the September issue of Kairos observes how humans became humane and helped their fellow beings selflessly to recover from the aftermath. The editorial by Dr. Chackochan Njaavalil includes heartwarming personal accounts cherishing the self-effacing services of people all around Kerala in moments of the present crisis, and how many became faces of God to the victims.
Sasi Immanuel writes a feature on the risks and sacrifice involved in attaining priesthood, and quotes the words and experiences of various saints about the religious vocation. Dr. Sunny Jose interviews the newly ordained priest, Fr. Kevin Mundackal, who is also the first U.S. born priest to be ordained for the Syro Malabar church, on his vocation discernment and challenges. Cover stories by Dr. Sameera Sebastian, Rehna Francis and Benoy Joseph testifies their Holy Sacramental experiences and affirms the sanctity of Eucharistic celebrations and Sacred confessionals which has and will continue to withstand all kinds of trials.
In an article by Sajan C A, the involvement of Jesus Youth volunteers in rescuing, rehabilitating and restoring the flood afflicted and flood stricken areas are explained. Sunny Kokkapillil makes various observations on the recent floods in Kerala and Anita reviews the memoir Tears at Night, Joy at Dawn by Andrew Robinson. The issue also includes the regular segments.

The August issue of Kairos postulates the role of sports and recreational activities in rejuvenating and energizing the spirit of young generation and engaging them in “giving the best for the Lord”. The editorial draws out various dynamic efforts made by the pontifical in order to involve the youth more into the activities of the Catholic Church. Cover stories by Joseph George and Jeevan John examine the various ways in which sports and games help the formation of a healthy Catholic lifestyle and how parish play grounds indirectly bring the youngsters towards the activities of the church and importantly, the participation in Eucharistic celebrations. Manoj Sunny discusses the various approaches of the Catholic Church towards the people and sports and the possibilities of considering such recreational activities as a medium for formation, evangelization, education, charity and so on. In an interview session with Fr. Kuriakose Pallikunnel SDB, he talks how Sports occupy a prominent role in Salesian Ministering and the general need for a change in our attitude towards sports. In light of the recent events happening in the church, Sasi Emmanuel writes an observation on the tendencies of the media in taking pleasure by projecting and sensationalizing the minor discrepancies found in the minorities, while ignoring the more serious issues in the society. J. M .Plaathara reflects on how a priest’s life resembles the compassion and passion of Jesus Christ, as he surrenders everything for others, and yet has to bear the brunt of many accusations and humiliation from people and media. The issue also includes a heart touching testimony by Justin and the joyous accounts of teenagers on their Chalo Mission program.

The July edition of Kairos discusses about the relevance of romance in Christian life. In the editorial, we encounter a God who has created the whole universe out of his love and has given mankind the special grace to love one another. Sree Prasad in his article “Love Stories” shares the notion that true love is giving and not taking. Fr. Abraham Pallivathukkal S.J. writes about what makes the essence of a catholic family and how these values are transferred down to generations. In the interview with Prof. P. M. Chacko, he speaks about the adolescent age from his vast experience in the field of counselling. V.G. Thampi writes on what is real friendship and the role of freedom in friendship. In “Daivathinte Maunam”, Sasi Immanuel speaks about the need for strengthening faith in God by quoting Sirach 27:3. In “Ennale Ennu”, Dr. Edward Edezhath shares the importance of making our prayer meetings more vibrant and interesting. June edition of Kairos recognizes the exceptional services by catechism teachers in sowing and nurturing the Christian faith and values in young minds. In an article written by Sebastian Jose, he states how important it is for the teacher himself to live in sanctity so as to impart these virtues in his students. The auxiliary Bishop of Kanjirapally Diocese, Rev. Jose Pulikkal talks about the approach of Catholic Church towards catechism. Sajan C.A. gives many tips and tricks to make the catechism classes more interesting that ensures maximum student’s attendance and participation. Hints to become good catechism teachers are in the article by Alex and Leema Alex. We can also read testimonies of many students on how Sunday school catechism classes influenced their personal and spiritual lives and the changes they wish to happen for effective learning and spiritual growth. In Punarvichinthanam, Rev. Dr. Kurian Mattam addresses the importance of fulfilling the duties towards our parents by throwing an example from the Shakespeare’s play ‘King Liar’. In a beautiful testimony, Dr. Preeti Anumod shares the joy and experience of how more children bring more blessing to the families. May edition of Kairos mainly speaks about commitment. In the editorial, Dr. Chackochan Njavallil shares the joy of encountering group of young missionaries who are ready to sacrifice for the cause of the Kingdom of God. In the cover story, Dr. Nycil Rajesh tells the story of Jinto and Annu who have taken the firm decision to stay as a missionary family, thereby transferring the most unfavorable conditions into a blessing for many. Kairos also pays tribute to the first Ecclesiastical Advisor of Jesus Youth movement, late Nagpur Archbishop, Rev. Abraham Viruthakulangara. Article written by Manoj Sunny shares the most beautiful memories and moments which he had with the Archbishop. Panning through various articles that talks about the main idea, “commitment”, we find the write-ups by Sr. Soja Maria discussing about the commitment that one should have to oneself, Shaji Vaikkathuparambil defining commitment and giving tips on how to be committed, Amal Tom talking about bringing back the lost commitment and so on. In Daivathinte Maunam, Sasi Emmanuel talks about the “use and throw” culture in the modern world and discusses how even God is viewed in the same way. Adv. K.J. Johnson gives us the guidelines on how to accept the shortcomings of the life partner. Interview with V.P Joseph shows the importance of praying for others i.e. the power of intercession. April edition of Kairos puts a valiant attempt to make us realize how important it is to prepare for the death – the uninvited guest who has started his walk towards us from the day of our birth. This volume is rich in various testimonies and enriching experiences which challenge and provoke us to face death cheerfully and to embrace it like St. Francis of Assisi. Article by Resmy Roy and testimony of Sajan C.A. explain the grief of two men losing their wives to the death. They share their heart-warming story of how they could pray like Job during the time of this unexpected misfortune. In the article “Veettilekkulla Vazhi”, Sasi Emmanuel urges us to live in the same sanctity which we wish to have during the time of our death. He quotes example from the lives of various personalities who embraced death in different ways. In”Daivathinte Maunam”, he also explains diplomatically how ‘true love’ is misunderstood and misinterpreted in the modern world. In another emotive testimony, Mini Palakkad narrates how God works on our prayer intensions and give us the response only at the right time and in the most fitting way.  In the testimonies of Saji Paniyarkutty and Augustine Kodanadu, we encounter a God who never abandon us in the slightest of our difficulties or confusion .Naveen. J unfolds in a sarcastic way how funerals are used these days to exhibit pomposity and haughtiness. In the light of declaration of “Year of Youth” by Kerala Catholic Bishops Council, the March edition of Kairos highlights various youth movements which have evolved to become the mainstay of Catholic Church. Grandees including Justice Kurian Joseph, Justice Cyriac Joseph and many others share how youth movements succeeded in moulding their lives. Interview with Abhilash and Emmanuel – the top leaders of Jesus Youth and KCYM (Kerala Catholic Youth Movement) respectively, talks on the divergent paths taken by these youth movements in achieving the common goal of introducing Jesus to masses. While Sajan C.A. discusses reasons why youth movements often fail to attract the youth, Dr. Edward Edezhath discourses on the relevance of closely watching and understanding the pulse of the young generation. Varthavicharam, which is based on some recent happenings, leaves us with vehement emotions. JY monthly reflection about embracing the virtue of poverty, Daivathinte Maunam by Sasi Emmanuel and various testimonies make the current version of Kairos worth reading.

February edition of Kairos considers the need of leading a stress less and simple life rather than a stressful and complicated one. Editorial by Chakochan Njavallil talks about the ‘grimness’ of the Christian community in Kerala and urges to pack our lives with ‘smiles’. In an article, George John presents how people are wasting their lives in ‘anxiety and competition’ rather than ‘living’. The entire article is a beacon light for those who are struggling to set the priorities in their lives. Testimony by Dr. Jesly Jacob describes the most beautiful and mysterious ways of God to make us realize the purpose our lives.  In the interview with His Grace the Most Rev. Dr. Philipose Mar Chrysostom – we hear the voice of a loving father advising his children to entrust everything to God. He also instructs the youth to choose the ‘right path’ to attain the goals of their lives. ‘A simple life’, which is an excerpt from the life of Member of Parliament Sri. Innocent – tells us the story of a young boy who had the grace to face all the hardships of his life in the most effortless manner. Article by Donnet Rajesh on Sapna, the mother who embraced death to give birth to her 8th kid is a heart-warming story of a couple who stood for pro-life. Enthralling write-ups such as “shortcut to become the prominent”, “various relaxation techniques for the youth”, “story of the happy prince” and much more make the present version of Kairos exceptional.

The first edition of Kairos in the New Year starts with introduction about simplicity of the Holy Family. It will be really amazing for the readers to know how St. Joseph and Mother Mary have spent the valuable gifts received from the three kings. In Daivathinte Mounam, Sasi Immanuel, explains how easily people tend to forget God and the past blessings received. This article can be the essence of framing our New Year goals. In an interview with Mar Sebastian Adayantharath, auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Ernakulam – Angamaly, he describes why it is important for the church to come down to the most fragile and delicate sections of the society. In cover story, Dr. Nycil Rajesh gives the excerpt from the lives of 3 famous personalities who have defeated the “negative” ego and have showed the path of humbleness to masses. Jeevan John explains the emptiness of pride and attitude in a sharp and short article. When the entire world waits for the Christmas Day, a day of mercy, in which God our Father has revealed his great tenderness to the humanity, Kairos explores the role of youth in disseminating this mercy received. The current edition of Kairos fills our hearts and triggers our souls with numerous testimonies and articles.  The JY initiatives of S.H. College, Thevara is really moving especially when they focus on accommodating all types of students with the JY pursuits. This is a perfect example of how a small prayer group can transform to become a blessing to the entire society. In Cover Story by George John, he shares how going back to the roots makes one feel better especially when it comes to celebrations. Testimony of Alexy – the sacred friendship which he had with his grandparents is a “cheerfully sentimental” article. In Vazhiyum Viliyum, Jacob Kocheri, elucidates the beauty of considering a disabled child as a blessing to the family. Testimonies of Donnet Davis about fulltimership mission and Ajay Augustine about fellowship, article by Sasi Emmanuel, Vaartha Vicharam by Sunny Kokkappillil and much more give an extra essence to the Kairos readers.

In the November edition of Kairos, the concept of ‘Blessed are the poor in spirit” is decoded to its fullest. In the article by Prof. C. C. Aalisukutty, she did her damnedest in explaining the notion of “Poor in Spirit”. Each and every sentence is thought provoking which won’t stop someone from reading the entire article again. May not be intentionally, but the present version of Kairos throws a number of examples from “families” to show how one can be “Poor in Spirit”. The mission undertaken by a very successful young doctor and his wife to serve in an ordinary hospital in North India despite being offered with fancy salaries from many Multi Super Speciality hospitals is a prompting example. In Punarvichinthanam, Rev. Dr. Kurian Mattam describes the beautiful sacrifice made by a newly married couple when the wife was diagnosed with cancer just after 10 days of their marriage. Another testimony is by a young couple living in Bangalore, who got pregnant with a child having disabilities. They led their entire 10 months in prayer and sacrifice to accept and welcome the baby but later found out that God had better plans. All these articles convey the message ‘God will be providing us with what we need for he has even given his only beloved son- lord Jesus Christ for our salvation’ and it is sure to touch the heart of the readers.

The October edition of Kairos magazine celebrates the untold story of sufferings endured by Christian community in Kandhamal district, Odisha. An interview with the award winning international journalist Anto Akkare, who threw light into the sad plight of Christians in Kandhamal, is the focal point of the latest volume. Stories on the unflagging faith exhibited by those ‘ordinary Christians’ leave as dumbstruck and put forward the challenge to come out of our comfort zones. Varthavicharam by Sunny Kokkappillil also discusses how injustice reigns in Kandhamal. August edition of Kairos magazine encompasses the theme of modern parenting. An interview with Dr. Ancy George discusses the modern parenting styles and child discipline strategies. The touching testimonies of missionaries like Anto Thomas, Richi Jose, Lincy and Jinu Maria display how devoted catholic families become the manufactory of the saints. Through the articles by Sunny Kokkappillil, Arun Thomas and Jacob Kocheri, it is unambiguous that parents can inculcate a lot of values of life and they are the primary role model for their children.
