तमिलनाडु के मुख्यमंत्री एम.के.स्टालिन के लिए चुनावों से पहले किया गया कम से कम एक वादा पूरा कर पाना भारी पड़ रहा है-मेडिकल और डेंटल कॉलेजों में दाखिले के लिए राष्ट्रीय पात्रता-सह-प्रवेश परीक्षा (एनईईटी या नीट) से राज्य को छूट दिलवाना. राज्यपाल आर.एन. रवि ने 1 फरवरी को इस बदलाव की पेशकश करने वाला तमिलनाडु अंडरग्रेजुएट मेडिकल कोर्स प्रवेश विधेयक, 2021 लौटा दिया. द्रमुक सरकार ने भी तुरतफुरत 8 फरवरी को राज्य विधानसभा के विशेष सत्र में विधेयक नए सिरे से पारित करके गेंद फिर राज्यपाल के पाले में डाल दी.
