नए साल की पूर्वसंध्या पर घूमने जाने के लिए कश्मीर मुकम्मल ठिकाना था. पहाड़ों की चोटियां और घास के मैदान बर्फ में ढके थे. रात भर जश्न मनाने के लिए पर्यटन स्थलों पर सैलानियों की भीड़ उमड़ आई थीं. मगर सुबह हुई, तो श्रीनगर की गुपकर रोड पर, जहां तीन पूर्व मुख्यमंत्रियों और सरकारी अफसरों के घर और सुरक्षा प्रतिष्ठान के दफ्तर हैं, अफरातफरी का आलम था. बैरिकेड लगे थे और सुरक्षाकर्मी गाड़ियों को उच्च सुरक्षा वाले इलाकों में जाने से रोक रहे थे. मकसद उस संयुक्त विरोध प्रदर्शन को रोकना था, जो पीएजीडी (पीपल्स एलायंस फॉर गुपकर डिक्लेरेशन) के नेता-फारूख अब्दुल्ला, उनके बेटे उमर और महबूबा मुफ्ती-उसी दिन परिसीमन आयोग के 'विभाजनकारी' मसौदे के खिलाफ करने वाले थे. फिर जो होना था, वही हुआ-तीनों नेताओं के साथ पीएजीडी के प्रवक्ता एम.वाइ. तारिगामी को उनके घरों में नजरबंद कर दिया गया.

मायूसी का आलम

यह सिनेमाघरों के लिए तयशुदा पटकथा के मुताबिक ही हो रहा है. 16 दिसंबर को मल्टीप्लेक्स एसोसिएशन ऑफ इंडिया के अध्यक्ष कमल ज्ञानचंदानी ने बड़े उत्साह से एक प्रेस रिलीज में कहा, "बड़ा परदा वापस आ गया है." फिल्म उद्योग सूर्यवंशी, स्पाइडरमैन: नो वे होम और पुष्पा की सफलता का जश्न मना रहा था. मार्वल फ्रैंचाइजी ने बॉक्स ऑफिस पर 202 करोड़ रुपए की कमाई की थी जबकि अल्लू अर्जुन-स्टारर पुष्पा: चैप्टर-1 200 करोड़ रुपए पार कर चुकी है. 2022 में अधिक भीड़जुटाऊ फिल्में कतार में थीं इसलिए माहौल में आशा थी. लेकिन तभी रंग में भंग डालने वाले कोविड 19 की वापसी ओमिक्रॉन वैरिएंट के रूप में हो गई.
