Highlights of Auto Today dated January 2018 issue:
We're welcoming 2018 with the January issue of Auto Today and the new year promises some exciting set of wheels to look forward to. Starting with a whole new range of BMWs as the German auto giant updates its line of SUVs, featured in our Top Story of the month. The Swedes are also focusing on SUVs and they've redone the popular XC60 as we take a spin in it to tell you how it fairs. Come February and one of the most anticipated cars to feature in the upcoming Auto Expo is the Maruti-Suzuki Swift. The Ed heads straight to Japan and samples the Suzuki Swift Sport which we expect Maruti-Suzuki to bring as part of their 2018 range. He then heads to sunny Portugal and spends time driving the brand new M5. Back home, we pitted Skoda's first SUV against Toyota's best-selling one in our Road Test. The two-wheeled world has new machinery to boast of and the highlight of the month is TVS' Apache RR310, a ride around the MMRT in Chennai tells us that it's been worth the wait. Hero sprung a last minute surprise at the end of 2017 by updating the Super Splendor, Passion Pro and the Passion XPro. We got quick rides on them to see what's new about these established commuters. Honda Two Wheelers has a brilliant product in the form of the new Grazia and to prove that its better than the best 125s out there, we compared it to the Suzuki Access 125. The 2018 edition of the Dakar is on and Hero gives us a glimpse into their newest rally motorcycle for the toughest and biggest off-road rally raid in the world.
Also featured are the LA Auto Show, all the generations of the iconic BMW M5 and the Indian Car and Motorcycle of the Year. Of course, you can find a round up of the latest updates in the automotive world along with progress of our long-term fleet too. So enjoy reading the January 2018 issue of Auto Today and here's wishing you a happy and prosperous new year of motoring.

Maruti-Suzuki Ignis - Model Zeta AMT

In the last report, I had discussed about the Ignis’ suspension and gearbox, two aspects that stood out during the highway journey I undertook. Although the gearbox has really been the focal point of my experience, the engine that it’s connected to, deserves to be mentioned.
