In the end of every year we often wake up with hangover from one festival to another upcoming. It’s also the time when almost everyone in the industry is occupied, but it nevertheless requires a certain degree of reflection as the landscape happens to have altered immensely during the recent years.

Underscoring this, we have done some detailed stories on the relevance of exclusive outlets and the crucial role distributors play.

Apart from the festivals, the season also brings new trends. We have dedicated our Shoot Section to how boots are still trendy and also a must have. Some of the trends we have highlighted in this issue were also distinctly visible at the Agra fair. And in the upcoming Designers Fair to be held in flood-hit Chennai, the first of its kind in the country, we are certain that rich variants will be displayed. It must be noted that the Task Force on Design, led by Naresh Bhasin, has been working relentlessly to bring over notable footwear and accessories designers from other countries at the event.
