• Uttarakhand High Court has lifted its stay on Char Dham Yatra and directed the state government to strictly follow COVID-19 norms. The court said 800 pilgrims will be allowed in Kedarnath Dham, 1,200 in Badrinath Dham, 600 in Gangotri and 400 in Yamunotri every day. It also ordered mandatory COVID-19 negative report and double vaccination certificate for devotees.

Switzerland's University of St Gallen was ranked first, while IIM Ahmedabad ranked 26th. Tamil Nadu Assembly on Monday passed a Bill for permanent exemption from the central medical exam National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for students of the state. The Tamil Nadu Admission to Undergraduate Medical Degree Courses Bill, 2021 was passed with support from all parties except BJP. A 20-year-old NEET aspirant had earlier died by suicide hours before the exam.

As many as 105 cases of dengue and viral fever were recorded in Uttar Pradesh's Firozabad district on Sunday, said Dr Sangeeta Aneja, Principal o f A u t o n o m o u s S t a t e Medical College Society. The Centre on Thursday named states and Union Territories that have vaccinated 85- 100% of its entire adult population with at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose. Sikkim, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Himachal Pradesh have vaccinated 100% of their 18+ population with first dose. These are followed by Tripura (89%), Ladakh (88%), Daman and Diu (88%), Lakshadweep (88%) and Mizoram (85%).

Tata Motors has opposed a cut in import duties on electric cars as appealed by Tesla, saying it's contrary to the government's FAME policy. "FAME has really focused on two aspects. The Uttar Pradesh government has decided to end Sunday curfew in view of declining COVID-19 cases. As per the order, signed by Additional Chief Secretary Awanish K Awasthi, markets and other activities will be allowed from 6 am to 10 pm on all seven days. However, the night curfew will remain imposed from 10 pm to 6 am.
