and Communication Technology (ICT), have led to the concept of
Network Centric Warfare (NCW), characterised by exponentially enhanced situational awareness, decision making, dissemination of information and precision strike capability. Commanders, who employ these capabilities innovatively, achieve success at a fast tempo
and at the minimal cost.

The issue highlights various challenges that are faced while implementing geospatial technology, causes of internal stability and how they can be overcome. It also features GIS applications being used by Indian Armed forces and the importance of aircraft recognition training for soldiers in air defence.
