ஒரு மாத பயணத்திற்குப் பிறகு வீட்டிற்கு வந்து களைப்பாக சோபாவில் அமர்ந்தார் கோபிசந்த். டேபிள் மேலிருந்த திருமண பத்திரிகையின் மேல் அவர் பார்வைப்பட, அருகில் அமர்ந்திருந்த மனைவியிடம், “யாருக்கு திருமணம்?” என்று கேட்க அவர், “உங்கள் பால்ய நண்பனான மந்திரியின் ஒரே மகனுக்கும், இந்த ஊர் எம்பியின் மகளுக்கும் திருமணமாம். இன்று தான் உங்கள் நண்பர் வந்து அழைத்து விட்டுப் போனார். மாப்பிள்ளை வீட்டினருடன் நீங்கள் கண்டிப்பாக வர வேண்டும் என்று சொல்லி விட்டுப் போனார்” என்று கூறியதும், உற்சாகமாக பத்திரிகையைக் கையில் எடுத்துப் படிக்க ஆரம்பித்தார்.
