The world recently celebrated International Women’s Day on the 8th of March, signifying and celebrating the achievements of women from all walks of life. In light of this, there are many obstacles that we need to work on as a nation and as citizens of the world at large, to make it a better place for women to grow to their potential. According to a study done under McKinsey Global Institute, the GDP of our nation could possibly increase to anywhere between 16 and 60 percent in the next 8 years if more of its women participated in the workforce! The need of the hour is more women mentors in the domains of STEM and as heads of businesses, to inspire more young women to take the lead and drive our country forward and into the path of development.

Echoing the theme of this year’s Women’s Day theme - ‘The Time is Now’, I am positive that this is certainly not a distant dream.
