The march issue focuses on the trend setting designs and features a range of projects which have created a benchmark in the design practice. The INSITE story features the architects office by Gurjit Singh Matharoo and associates, a residential retreat by Shabnam Gupta, an office space- Amoeba by Hiren Patel Architects, transformation of a colonial house by Abin design studio, Head office of Kochi Muziris Biennale by Nuru Karim Architects and the Maya Somaiya Library by Sameep Padora and associates. The Art Insight section features a retrospective on art and life of Rekha Rodwittiya. The designer's insight section features an office space by Architecture Discipline and a workspace by Anurag Sinha.

Heritage Workspace

The story of Bombay House is quite interesting. The ancient building dates back to 1921 and the plans were conceived by Scottish architect. George Wittet, the designer of the city’s iconic Gateway of India. Originally, the building had four businesses functioning within — textiles, hotels, steel and power. It has been refurbished and redesigned by Ar. Brinda Somaya, the founder of Somaya and Kalappa Consultants.

Unbound: A Library Under The Shade Of Knowledge

Envisioned as a place for celebrating the act of reading and freedom as an expression, a place where knowledge is free and ‘unbound’, a place where knowledge is empowerment, the pavilion ‘Unbound: Library of Lost books’ was designed at the Salvador Segui Square of Barcelona, Spain. Primarily programmed with a live-program of ‘reading’, ‘Unbound’ designed by Anupama Kundoo Architects furnishes an innovative approach in public library design which highlights the theme of liberty and the limitless nature of knowledge.

Vaisselle Beyond Luxury

“There are no set rules and having a signature style can be edgy,” believes Ar. Pankti Shah, founder of Amogh Architecture and Interior, Ahmedabad. She is passionate about creating quirky things while playing with colours, combinations and shades. Vaisselle – a state of art retail store of fine tableware and porcelain crockery was co-designed by her and her sister, Shalvi Shah. On client requirements, the ambience of space has been designed to complement the displayed products.
