When you think of Progressive House, there’s a handful of producers that are extremely respected and have been at the top of their game for many years. Nick Muir is one of those guys who has his feet firmly planted on the floor.
 A genuinely nice guy who produces the most amazing progressive house/techno with twists and turns that very few can replicate. During the early Nighties, Nick met John Digweed. Together they started writing and remixing club tracks under the name Bedrock. It was not long into their association that they wrote and recorded the track 'For What You Dream Of' on Stress Records, which featured on the seminal ground-breaking compilation 'Renaissance - The Mix Collection' put together by John in conjunction with Sasha.

Our Kai Newhouse was able to meet with 90’s house remix phenom, Joe Stone, a.k.a., Maurice Oude Booyink, at the Spinnin’ Records Q-factory. She trekked through rain, mud and far Uber drive, but was finally able to get there. She was soaking wet and breaking a sweat. He’s known for taking old school hits and making them into house grooves of today

Featuring DJ sets from a cross section of talented artists including interviews and footage of their incredible locations, ICONYC TV is the next step dance music’s development. We sat down with ICONYC label head, John Johnson and a group of the DJs featured in season one, Darren Emerson, Umek and Paul Sawyer to find out more.  

In our feature interviews in this issue we talk to cover artists SRVD. The Rekids (Official) label have become a prevalent force in the house and techno world over the past fifteen years. With numerous releases receiving critical worldwide acclaim. Label owner Radio Slave (Official) made waves teaming up with fellow label mate Patrick Mason as ‘SRVD’, for their more aggressive techno sound.

In our featureinterviews in this issue we talk to cover Housemaster EDDIE AMADOR. Eddie Amador’s career in music started in 1993 but like a lot of DJ/ producers he didn’t get his big break straight away, he worked hard at his craft and it wasn’t until 1998 that that the spotlight shone on him when we penned the global hit ‘House Music’ featuring the line  “not everyone understands house music, it’s a spiritual thing, a body thing, a soul thing”. After that things started to really fly and remix work started coming in from the likes of Madonna, Michael Buble and Seal to name but a few. He also started remixing for labels like Warner Bros. Records and Reprise. This led to one of his remixes from Madonna’s ‘Hard Candy’ album called ‘Give It To Me’ reaching number one in the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play Chart and Eddie’s career started to really fly.

Multi talented DJ, producer and vocalist John Graham began his production career in the early 1990s and is best known as Quivver and his DnB alias Skanna, with other monikers including Space Manoeuvres, Stoneproof and Tilt. Widely regarded as one of the world's most versatile and consistent DJs and producers, he launched his new imprint ‘Controlled Substance’ back in 2017 as a test bed for his darker, more experimental productions.

In our feature interviews in this issue we talk to cover beauty, and one of the icons of dance music, ANGIE BROWN. Every artist needs a big break and Angie’s came in the early nineties when she was freelancing for an agency in an attempt to become known.

Then came Bizarre Inc. who were looking for a big voice to perform their next track following the success of “Playing with knives”. One audition and three months later the “I’m Gonna Get You” was mixed and the pre-sales were 45,000, it went straight into the UK National charts at #17 and finally rested at #2.

With the success of this track, Angie was able to launch a full-time career as a vocalist and now appears sometimes as a featured artiste or more recently on all new projects actually co-writes tracks with the DJ or producer as well as performs them.

Examples of her work in more recent times can be heard on various labels including Hed Kandi, Milk & Sugar, Krafted and Mark Knight’s Toolroom Records.

Seb has been spinning for over 30 years and travelled to every inch of the globe, Seb Fontaine has held down residencies at some of the biggest clubs in the World, as well as featuring on an endless list of festivals and events.

In our feature interviews in this issue we talk to cover artist JUDGE JULES [UK]. There are DJs that have achieved a lot in their careers and people in the dance music industry that can say the same but there are not many that can say that they have done as much for the dance scene as Judge Jules.
He is a DJ, radio DJ, producer, promoter, music lawyer and so much more that its hard to know where to start in compiling a set of questions to ask someone that has achieved so much, over such a long period.

Next up,  LOU COOPER [TOOLROOM] [UK]. Toolroom Records is known internationally as one of the most innovative major brands in dance music. Launched in 2003 by the Knight brothers, Mark and Stuart, the brand has developed the careers of many artists and become such a globally successful brand that there are not many cities in this World that Toolroom have not visited and dominated the club scene.

We talk to POLE FOLDER [Belgium]. The #1 artist with his Destinations show on what’s considered the ‘go to’ radio station for progressive house, Frisky Radio, is one of the things that springs to mind when you mention Pole Folder. He was also voted Belgium’s Best DJ in 2010 with what can only be described as an impressive, multi instrument live show.

Next up from Ireland, we have, CIARAN MCCAULEY. For those that are unaware as to who Ciaran McAuley is, allow me to shed more light. He is a product of universal recognition, a direct manifestation, not of ordinary but of extraordinary. His devotion and contribution to trance is more prominent than ever.

In recent weeks, T.H.E Music Essentials compiled a list of ‘10 Trance Artists that made our 2017 Better’ and Ciaran made the cut. They quoted ‘Ciaran has had no fewer than 6 top ten originals on Beatport this year, including the acclaim and support of many big names in the scene’

Followed on by detailed feature interviews with non-other than the Progressive - Tech House legend ‘Blue Amazon’ aka Lee softly who is still plying his trade after nearly 3 decades and headlining the Asylum Reunion in Dublin in June.
