Tis the season to be jolly, and make no mistake: we at Indonesia Tatler intend to show you how to live it to the fullest. This issue is packed with seasonal cheer and good wishes, but, as always, it is seasoned with a sprinkling of seriousness. If you’re celebrating Christmas this year, we have the top tables you should be eating your Christmas lunch (or dinner) at, as well as all the must-do activities for you and your family, dreamy destinations for a fun-filled holiday celebration, and much more. If you’re just going to be enjoying a well-earned rest and the extended New Year break... Well, the above list applies to you, too!
That brings me onto the more serious stuff. Art lovers to the core, in this issue we bring you the story of the new MACAN Museum, named after the Modern and Contemporary Art in Nusantara Foundation. The aim here is to give the public access to artworks that they would otherwise not have seen, says Fenessa Adikoesoemo, the foundation’s chairwoman. The collection is that of her father and will showcase roughly 90 works, including those by Yayoi Kusama and Ai Weiwei. Read more in “Turning Art”.
Meanwhile, we chat with Natasha Cinta Vinski, who, at the age of 24, is already CEO of Vinski Tower—an anti-ageing and preventive medicine clinic founded by her mother—and CEO of Aero Queen, a Singapore-based helicopter vendor previously led by her late father Ivan Vinski. She is also a doctor, having graduated top of her class, and has been accepted in the MBA programme of an Ivy League university in the US. And Natasha, who launched her first fashion business, Foxxy, when she was 17, is also the founder of Love Humanity NCV, an NGO that provides medical aid to the less privileged. Her biggest reward? Seeing patients get better, of course. Her biggest dream? To own her own airline. We sure hope her dreams take off! Read her story in “Girl on the Go”.
