Magazine Description

In this issue

Well, 2015 has finally come to an end, meaning that it’s time to bid a fond farewell to an amazing year and, of course, to welcome another colourful year to come. Just last month, we celebrated Indonesia Tatler’s 15th anniversary with the Indonesia Tatler Ball. This was indeed a magnificent event, as always, thanks to all of you who graced us with your presence at the Raffles Hotel Jakarta, as well as all our dear sponsors who made it all happen (with a little help from our staff, of course). As the last month in the year, December is a rather special month for us. Not only will we enjoy a Christmas holiday, our national Mother’s Day (Hari Ibu) also falls on December 22. So in this issue, we present you with seven mothers and their stories of parenthood: Rosa Rai Djalal, Rany Moran, Vilichea Satryaguna, Azima Wardana, Rani TDJ, Liestyana Gusman, and Madame Zhanar Sukhan, all of whom share their insights on their special bonds with their children. On the cover this December, we are proud to feature Hengky Setiawan, the founder of Tiphone Mobil Indonesia, who, later in the magazine, inspires us with his rags-to-riches life story that saw him create his own telecoms empire out of nothing. He shares with us his Buddhist beliefs and spreads jewels of wisdom about life and about work—lessons we can all learn from. We also put the spotlight on Indonesian Minister of Transportation, Ignasius Jonan, who tells us about his missions and programmes that are aimed at strengthening Indonesia’s somewhat fragile infrastructure. Lastly, we urge you to sit back and enjoy our Style and Life sections, in which you’ll find news, snippets and helpful tips and tricks about the latest fashion trends, beauty treatments and, of course, the very best restaurants where you can celebrate Christmas and the New Year in style. Happy holidays!
