搅拌摩擦焊（FSW）是英国焊接研究所于1991年发明的一种新型固相焊接技术。由于母材不熔化，工艺参数少，同时焊接质量稳定，不产生凝固裂纹和气孔等缺陷，所以它适用于大型结构的焊接。在航空业，搅拌摩擦焊作为飞机轻合金结构制造技术的一种发展趋势，已经取得了丰硕成果。Eclipse 550轻型喷气机具有同类飞机中最佳的性能、经济性和安全性，其中一个重要原因就是使用了搅拌摩擦焊来进行装配。这种工艺可以显著缩短生产时间，并使机身和机翼更轻、更坚固。详情请见本期《搅拌摩擦焊：让飞机更轻、更坚固》。
