Our February issue offers another eclectic mix of all your favourite articles, not to mention a few treats. Take, for example, Roger Suitters’ unique and unusual model of the nuclear-powered NR-1 research submarine, a FREE plan for Glynn Guest’s cartoon-scale version of a Mediterranean island hopping ferry (that features a rudder and propeller at each end for precise manoeuvring in all directions), and John Goodyear’s beginners’ guide to Bermuda rig sail making. But that’s just the start of it, in our regular features John Parker (Flotsam & Jetsam) remembers the Japanese submarine that almost wrought havoc on two unsuspecting capital ships back in 1942, Dave Wooley (Range Finder) takes us on a tour of HMS M.33, the sole remaining British veteran of the 1915 Gallipoli campaign, and in Boiler Room, Richard Simpson suggests a tool that, once used, you’ll never be without. Elsewhere in the issue, Colin Bishop’s trip to the Warwick International Model Boat Show reveals some magnificent models and in Chris Drage’s last Waterline article of the series (we’ll be sorry to see him go), we’re transported back to Algeria, 6th April 1943, where preparations for the Allied invasion of Sicily are in full swing.
