Magazine Description

In this issue

Winter is well and truly creeping up on us, meaning it is time to dig out the cosy scarves and combat the chillier weather with lots of hot chocolates! The darker evenings make lighting in the home all the more important, and you will gain lots of advice on lighting throughout the home in this issue. We cover kitchens, living room and bedrooms, and how best to create a functional, yet inviting space in each of these multifunctional areas of the home. We highlight the importance of having more than just one main light source and how to develop a lighting scheme to suit. Further to this, we look at dining furniture that is suitable whether you have an open plan living scheme or whether you have a separate dedicated space. There are plenty of options for you to consider for either a formal or casual dining setting in a range of styles for contemporary and classic homes. We also take a look at casual seating in a kitchen-dining setting, with built in banquette seating and breakfast bar inspiration. We take a look at the Dulux colour of the Year 2019, Spiced Honey, a warm camel shade that is set to be a popular hue in the coming months a head. Our homes this issue takes us to Wexford where we visit a beautiful new build that combines Georgian and contemporary architecture, boasting stunning views of the river. We also visit Deborah and Graham’sʼquirky with a hint of vintage, home in Belfast. Last but not least, in Wicklow, gardener June Blake shows us her clever transformation of an old stable-turned two storey house. For our cookery pages we celebrate Basque Country by Marti Buckley, with four stunning recipes straight from the book! In our travel features we explore the stunning city of Verona, and closer to home we find out what Kilkenny has to offer, and finally, our gardening expert Deirdre, tells us all about her favourite scented leaves!
