Are you ready to say goodbye to 2022 and welcome in 2023? I think I am! There’s no better time to get on top of things and set your intentions for the year ahead. For me it has to be the state of my desktop – it’s total chaos most of the time, oh and making the clean washing move further than the dining table! Luckily, the ladies from Order in the House have us all covered and provide 10 invaluable tips to help keep you and your home in order in the year ahead. We also speak to the experts about the interior trends we can expect to see filtering though in 2023. From global influences to our need to surround ourselves with pieces that fill our homes with joy, there’s plenty to make you think about your home décor in the year ahead. This includes what you do with your bathroom – or should I say ‘spathroom’! For anyone rolling their eyes at this terminology I’ve also just read about the ‘beautility’ room! You know there’s a feature incoming! Anyway, back to the ‘spathroom’, it’s all about creating that spa-like bathing sanctuary in your own home even if this is simply adding some lush greenery. Our four homes this issue include a renovated Victorian property by the sea in Bangor, Co. Down. Full of the owner’s personal style, this home has lots to inspire. So too does the self-build home of interior designer Orla and her husband David, which now makes better use of the space available for the whole family. In Dublin, Sara Cosgrove has turned a contemporary new build into an inviting family home with lots of storage and study spaces for the family’s needs. While in Co. Cavan, Eloise and Sean have built a bespoke, rural retreat that is the perfect place to come home to at the end of the day. We have four fantastic competitions this month, one of which is to win a copy of Gina and Karol Daly’s new cookbook from which we share a selection of recipes. Marty O’Neill is in Stockholm and Conrad McCormick is offering his expert advice on flowering trees.
