This issue aims to open a conversation about what sustainability in modern creative business really means. It discusses some of the untold challenges, unspoken frustrations, extremely difficult compromises and barriers small brands and designers face when trying to be "sustain|able". My hope is that if you are a business owner who battles with similar issues you realise that you are not alone, and if you are trying to change your habits to more sustainable living you will gain not only an insight into the efforts companies have to make to become more sustainable, but also give you some helpful ideas and tips.

The idea for this ESTILA Volume 10 came from a conversation about men in creative industries. After hearing some amazing stories, I wanted to give them a space where they all can share their journey and experiences. I must say, they delivered. Each story is a great case study to get inspired by.

ESTILA Vol 9 is all about progression. We feature interviews with creatives, independent brands and artists, telling stories of progress and growth. The stunning cover is by artist and collagist Maria Rivans.

All stories and interviews with the brands we chose for this issue have one thing in common – sustainability as part of their ethos, beliefs and mission. The beautiful cover illustration was created by Rachael Burn, a young and talented artist, who is always learning, growing and polishing her skills. It sets the tone perfectly for the content inside.

Sometimes life throws challenges at us for a reason, don’t you think? The stories on the pages in this ESTILA Volume 7.  tell journeys of reinvention and innovation. The world will keep moving forward only if we deal with challenges head-on. Sometimes this requires thinking outside the box and doing things that have never been done before. Other times we need to dig deep and rediscover our passion that has been buried by our own circumstances and lack of self-belief.
