This year's issue is about solutions: what people in BC, and in communities around the Pacific Rim, are doing to address social and environmental problems in creative (and sometimes unexpected) ways. The stories we share speak of our concerns about the world, but the topics we address are discussed from a place of hope.

The 2014 issue of Pacific Rim Magazine highlights the issues around shark conservation and whether shark-related ecotourism could generate more revenue than shark consumption. Canada’s Seasonal Agriculture Worker Program is viewed through the stories of the people that travel thousands of kilometres, leaving their families behind, to work in the fields in British Columbia. These stories, and more, examine the connection of Vancouver to the Pacific Rim.
