Another year is about to go by. Culture Magazin is very happy and honoured to be able to accompany you over this time. We hope you can see the silver lining amid another difficult year caused by the pandemic. The vast spread of love in the community and the strength of family ties have kept us going. This issue also introduces books where celebrities have revealed some of their deepest secrets. The East Meets West story discusses an issue of concern to Asian families, how to raise children between cultures. The travel section offers beautiful pictures and experiences at Đá Dĩa Reef, a 200-million-year old masterpiece created by the eruption of Phú Yên. The Year of the Rat, 2020, was the first year of a new round of 12 zodiac signs. It was considered to have many new beginnings, and so it did. These new beginnings, or changes, were unforeseen and led people to adapt to unprecedented situations. 

Everything happens for a reason. It seems that the difficulties of last year might help us transform and begin the Year of the Ox with much luck. The hope is for a year full of prosperity and health for everyone.

Culture Magazin’s Print Edition is Back! 

When the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted our lives, I remembered the words of author and motivational speaker Vivian Greene, “Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass. It’s about learning how to dance in the rain." Each of us is practicing to adapt to the "new normal" created by this virus.

I recently read in the Washington Post that the editors-in-chief of prestigious law journals at the top 16 law schools in the United States are all women. This is an historic first. Heading into 2020, we see the roles of women changing. They are now CEOs and world leaders, activists, artists, deans of architecture schools, and hold many other top positions. This is a major breakthrough and shows that women can be strong leaders. 

In this March issue, as we celebrate International Women’s Day, Culture introduces you to a few exceptional young women. Read their inspiring stories and learn how they are trying to influence the world with their talent.
