In this issue

The country’s northwestern region still remains ignored in terms of industrialization. The overall development of the region did not get required momentum although the door was opened through starting traffic across the mighty Jamuna River about 20 years from now. Some agro-based industries have been set up following revolution in agriculture, yet the number is not encouraging. Entrepreneurs did not show much interest to invest in heavy industries in the region. Experts say for required industrialization, the northwestern region and greater Faridpur must be brought under gas distribution network. All industries within or outside industrial zones must be brought under gas supply networks. Quality power supply must also be ensured. The Power Division is optimistic about quality power supply without interruption by 2025. There should not be any gas deficit in the national gas grid at that time. Experts observe that we must have to take immediate decision for commencing mining from the discovered mines. Using this coal projects must start for generating electricity. That will facilitate supplying power to industries and consumers at affordable price.
