La igualdad en el lugar de trabajo está mejorando
Recuerdo, hace un par de meses, colaborar en una empresa donde ya se organizaban para crear un comité de igualdad de género; un gran paso para una compañía de poco más de 14 años en el mercado. Pero, aún falta mucho por hacer, todavía existen personas que enfrentan discriminación, ya sea al interior de una compañía, o al no ser aceptadas en una por su preferencia sexual.
Encontrar aquellas que incluyan la orientación sexual y la identidad de género en sus políticas de no discriminación, es una forma de saber que están realmente comprometidas a contratar más empleados LGBTQIA+, más allá de solo cambiar de color su logotipo o adornar un carro alegórico para participar en la marcha que se organiza cada año (y que, dicho sea de paso, este 2022 se realizará el 25 de junio). Según la cuarta edición de la encuesta Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Equidad MX, 212 empresas en el país obtuvieron el certificado de inclusión de la comunidad LGBTQIA+, lo cual significa un aumento del 77% anual. Para obtener este reconocimiento, HRC Equidad MX evalúa a los participantes en tres ejes fundamentales: la adopción de políticas de no discriminación, la creación de grupos para empleados o consejos de diversidad, y la participación en actividades públicas para apoyar la inclusión LLGBTQIA+ dentro y fuera la compañía.
