Girish Ramdas is the Co-founder and CEO of Magzter, a New York based startup that has been making waves in the global digital publishing business. In just 2+ years Magzter has crossed 16 million users from more than 200 countries with magazines and books from more than 1000 publishers worldwide.
He has more than 17+ years of experience in cross-platform publishing, including print, mobile, and Web development. During this period, he has co-founded and run three successful start-up businesses. He has enabled magazine companies to go digital and helps them monetize their content across the digital world. Girish's deep industry experience in online, mobile and publishing ecosystems has made him an expert in acquisition, marketing and monetizing digital content across platforms globally.
He was voted the CIOL Technology Person of the Year for 2012 for his contribution to the global digital publishing business. He was invited to speak at the prestigious World Magazine Congress in Rome in 2013 to address the world publishers on digital publishing and its future. He was also awarded the TiE Innovative Entrepreneur of the Year award for 2013..
Prior to Magzter, he was the President of Dot Com Infoway (DCI) and Galatta Media. His duties included strategic marketing, partnership development, and monetizing content globally. DCI grew from a small team of 3 in 2000 to 300 by 2011 and was dealing with web, software and app development for clients globally.
In 2000, Girish also co-founded South India's largest entertainment portal www.galatta.com and published South India's first English language movie magazine in 2007 both of which continue to grow exponentially based on the strong foundation set by Girish during his tenure there.
Girish Ramdas was a State Rank holder in academics from Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Chennai and holds an Engineering degree from the Anna University, Chennai.
Fun facts: He has earned six Indian national gold medals in rifle shooting and holds the national record in one event. He runs 5 – 10 kms everyday. He is an avid Tennis player and golfer too!.
Vijay is the Co-founder & President of Magzter Inc.
Vijay entered the IT and media world as the Founder & CEO of NTS, an IT services company offering integrated engineering solutions; design and development engineering, product testing, standards compliance and project management services, to global clients.
NTS merged with Dot Com Infoway (DCI) in June 2005 and Vijay became the Chief Technology Officer of DCI. As CTO, he managed the IT team; monitoring small to large integrated projects, architecture for complex web, mobile and systems applications and executing internal IT audits for compliance with industry-expected standards. He also served as Chairman of SEPG for the CMMI process.
In June 2008, Vijay initiated the Mobile Application Development and Marketing wing of Dot Com Infoway, called DCI Mobile Studios; a leading mobile application developer in India; creating and marketing mobile apps for iPhone/iPad, Android & BlackBerry. DCI Mobile Studios has numerous successful, user-favorite apps under its belt, having developed and marketed business utility apps, entertainment apps, gaming apps, movie-related apps and eBook apps to name a few.
In 2011, with a vision to impact the publishing industry with the growing mobile/tablet, Vijay co-founded Magzter Inc, currently the world's fastest growing digital newsstand and Asia's largest newsstand.
Endowed with a keen business intellect, Vijay has traveled all over the world dealing with C-level executives and clients for the past 15 years. His experience in IT and the media industry spans over 14 years.
Vijayakumar Radhakrishnan holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Madras University and a Master's degree in Management from the Birla Institute of Technology and Sciences, Pilani, India. A deep passion for technology, innovative problem-solving skills and proficiency in the latest web and mobile trends has earned him the reputation of a result-driven technology leader.
Michael has over 20 years of experience in online development and the Publishing industry, holding various positions in Strategy and Sales. Michael now heads Magzter’s sales efforts in USA and works out of Magzter’s New York office.
Michael was previously with the McGraw-Hill Companies in New York since 2007 as Director of Sales at the Aviation Week Group, responsible for their print and online properties associated with the Business Aviation industry. He also had sales management responsibility for the Conferences and Events Division.
He has also held sales management positions with PostTech Media, a Washington Post company, ePublic Bids, the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers and Thomson Publishing.
Josef has more than 25 years of experience in multimedia, online and publishing industries. He has been working in Germany for HSB in making magazines and newspapers available to readers on the Internet. He was the pioneer of the digital newsstand business in Germany.
Josef has held several management positions at Siemens, Kleindienst, SHB, VTEL and NewsStand.
Josef works from Augsburg (Germany) and heads Magzter's sales efforts in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Angus has over 20 years experience in publishing having held senior management positions in leading global media companies and has extensive experience of digital publishing, sales management and global markets as well as publishing his own magazines. He has been involved in digital publishing since 1996 and has been involved in the development of print into digital both with newspapers and magazines and understands the importance and challenges of getting this right as a publisher and brings that experience to help publishers make their digital strategy really work for them through Magzter.
Angus worked at USA Today - the largest circulation newspaper in the US for 14 years where he ran all advertising and commercial efforts across EMEA delivering $12 million per annum of revenue. He then went to the world's largest in flight media company Ink Global where as Group Publishing Director he was responsible for publishing 7 magazines for market leading travel companies such as Eurostar, KLM and United Airlines.
Angus then worked on developing purely digital magazines and launched the world's first all digital luxury watch magazine for the iPad and the world's first all digital Porsche title as well as a watch title for the US market. He is based in Magzter's London office and is responsible for the UK market.
Marzia is a successful sales expert based in London with more than 20 years of book, magazine and newspaper business experience. Her last job was at the Bookseller Group where she was responsible for developing and implementing their commercial strategy. This included managing and generating revenue across the product portfolio with a particular focus on print and digital products.
Previously she has worked with top UK media companies including Times Newspapers and Illustrated London News.
She is based in London, and is responsible for content acquisition for the book market in Italy and the UK, and magazines in Italy.
Aaron is a successful business development strategist who has 10 years of experience in emerging Internet and mobile technologies. Aaron has been responsible for implementing partnerships with many Fortune 500 companies and various Agencies including Cisco, Marriott, Havas and most recently Clear Channel.
Previously, he has held senior management positions at successful startups and corporations including a revolutionary Mobile APP company and his own consulting firm. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of California Santa Barbara.
Aaron is based in New York and overseas strategic partnerships and alliances for the company.
Sebastiano is a media and sales professional with more than 18 years of international experience of which 8 years have been focused in the digital magazine business. During his extensive work experience in the Spanish, Italian and Latin American markets, he had the opportunity to broaden his knowledge of many different aspects of fast-growing digital and e-commerce companies as well as cross-platform publishing.
With a degree in Law from Italy, he has also specialized in International Copyright Laws.
He is based in Barcelona, and he is responsible for content acquisition in Spain and Latin America.
