Succession's Sarah 'WHAT I VALUE MOST'

When it comes to riches, the actor has it in abundance with her baby girl
Succession's Sarah 'WHAT I VALUE MOST'

There’s no doubt about it. Playing bad-to-the-bone Shiv on multiaward-winning Succession has been one of the best things that’s ever happened to Sarah Snook.

It’s pushed the Australian actor into that rarified Hollywood stratosphere where pay packets contain six zeros – the kind of existence where red carpets and shimmering awards seasons are de rigueur.

This year alone, the 36-year-old, who once paid her way through drama school by hiring herself out as Fairy Twinkletoes to children’s parties, has scooped a Golden Globe, a Critics’ Choice Award and an Emmy for her role as the cut-throat media heiress.

With all that fame and fortune, she is undeniably a star, but whatever you do, don’t call her beautiful. At least, not to her face!

“I very purposely have tried not to put my worth to myself into how I look,” the mum-of-one reflects. “Because if you do and one gets celebrated for that, when that goes – which it will – then what’s your worth?”

Welcoming a baby daughter nine months ago with her Peter Rabbit actor husband Dave Lawson, 45, has seen the redhead double down on her stand against physical beauty being any kind of measure of a woman’s value. Not just in Hollywood, but in any situation.

“I noticed it with my daughter,” says the first-time mum, who gave birth in May last year, soon after Succession’s fourth and final season premiered.
