LOGITECH PRO RACING WHEEL
As the name suggests, A Logitech is shooting for 'pro' levels of racing thrills with its first direct-drive wheel. But with the return of Forza Motorsport later this year, not to mention hardcore sims like F123 and ACC, this is a serious contender for those who just want to take their tyre-trashing skills to the next level.
Its layout isn't all too different from the noob-friendly G923, from the easily accessible face buttons on the wheel to the magnetic Hall-effect paddle shifters at the back. But this wheel has a slightly bigger diameter of 30cm, which does make a difference: it feels much more like you're holding the real thing, which is precisely what you want from a pro wheel.
The real difference, however, is felt in both the weight of the 7kg wheelbase it's attached to and its application of TrueForce haptic tech - which will have you feeling up to 11Nm of force feedback from both the virtual engine and the road surfaces you bump up against. And if you're worried about the physical hazard a chunk of gear like that could cause, you'll be pleased to know it comes with a desk mount to keep it in place.

HOW CHEAP IS YOUR LOVE?
‘Affordable’ is very much a relative term. To a billionaire, building a champagne-fuelled rocket out 24-carat gold, filling it with diamonds the size of Yorkshire puddings and blasting it into outer space just for something to do is affordable; but to the rest of us, a couple of hundred quid can bust the budget.
