Back in the early 1990s, Sega's tagline was 'To be this good takes ages! ('ages' being Sega backwards, geddit?). Today, it could easily apply to how long it's been since there was a fully new Sonic game worth playing.

Superstars takes side-scrolling platforming as its foundation and instantly transports you back to the familiar feel of the Mega Drive era. Diehard fans may miss the original pixel art but its 3D visuals do a great job of emulating the classic animations, including the way your character will start wobbling when standing on the edge of a platform.
