SAMSUNG 17 SHIELD

RUGGED BEAST

Samsung’s portable SSDs have always followed a no-nonsense formula. Be it the standard T7 portable or the T7 Touch with fingerprint security, Samsung’s SSDs value simplicity over gimmicky features. However, both the previous iterations of the T7 portable SSD had one major issue, the physical endurance. Though the previous variants were reliable, they lacked the rugged form factor which the Samsung T7 Shield boasts effectively. So is this solid-state drive everything you need for your storage demands? Let’s find out -

DESIGN: GAMECHANGER

The T7 Shield’s design is pretty much similar to its predecessors but comes with an additional permanent rubberized shell which helps in protecting the drive from drops and shocks. It is easy to assume that this SSD is designed for outdoor adventurers and people on the go. While the T7 & T7 Touch were limited to two-meter drop resistance, T7 Shield takes it a notch ahead with three-meter drop protection. Here, Samsung also adds the IP65 rating for water and dust protection which brings much-needed peace of mind for people predominantly working in outdoor conditions. The rugged exterior undoubtedly brings an aesthetically pleasing look and feel to the drive. Overall, the T7 Shield design is a winner.

PERFORMANCE: STRAIGHTFORWARD
