BATTLE ROYALE!

With the OnePlus Open, OnePlus finally stepped into the growing foldable device segment. The era of foldable devices has finally arrived in its full form, with major and even side players stepping it up and releasing their own foldable devices. We have a galore of folding devices, and we’ll be heading for a battle of the beasts - the OnePlus Open, Galaxy Z Fold 5 and the Google Pixel Fold. So, let the battle begin!

DISPLAY AND DESIGN

If we get down to business, the OnePlus Open’s design factor is the best among the lot. It sports the biggest outer screen out of the three devices at 6.31 inches while also being the lightest of the bunch, weighing just 245 grams. OnePlus has introduced this Flexion hinge, which ensures a gapless form factor, propelling OnePlus to enter the foldable market with a seamless design, something we couldn’t say for the Gakaxy Z Fold 5. Speaking of the Galaxy, The external display here is clocked in slightly smaller at 6.2 inches but weighs slightly higher than the Open at 253 grams. The device that takes a back seat in the design arena is the Google Pixel Fold, which weighs in heaviest at 283 grams but also has the smallest outer display of just 5.8 inches. There is a matter of subjectivity here as the Pixel Fold has a boxy square design that leans heavily on the wider side.
