No red for Mallía a mockery

THE RECENT South Africa v Argentina match in Johannesburg was less than ten seconds old when an attempted charge-down by Pumas full-back Juan Cruz Mallía left Springboks scrum-half Grant Williams unconscious on the turf.

Fielding the kick-off on his own 5m line, Williams kicked for touch as Mallía jumped to block it. Instead of reaching high with his arms, he turned his back and his hips smacked square into the face of the South African, knocking him out.
