Rajendra RE from R Shivamogga led a top-five finish for Petronas TVS Racing in the MRF Rally of Coimbatore, the Round 3 of the MRF Mogrip fmsci National 2W Rally Championship promoted by God Speed Racing at Coimbatore recently.
Rajendra RE, riding an RTR 450 won Class 1 and also took the top Overall honours. He clocked the fastest time in the first two stages of the day and held on to the top slot right from the start and played safe, easing out in the last two stages. Teammate Abdul Wahid Tanveer clocked faster times in the final two stages but had to be content with the second position finishing 20 seconds behind the winner. Samuel Jacob completed the podium with a further difference of 2min 19 seconds. Nataraj R took another 13sec to stay fourth and Imran Pasha completed the top five finish for the Petronas TVS team. Sarath Moham, from Kerala, became the top privateer in the event, finishing sixth overall with a further difference of 1 min 23sec.
The total distance of the rally route including the transport section was 85.24 kms with a competitive Special Stage distance of 68.80 kms.
Class 1 Superbikes Pro-Expert:
Rajendra RE from Petronas TVS Racing, riding a TVS RTR 450cc motorcycle, won the class and also clinched the overall victory by posting the fastest time of 57 min 59 sec. Three of his teammates followed him to complete an all-TVS podium in the class. Tanveer clocked 58min 19sec to finish second. Samuel, riding a TVS RTR200, came third while Nataraj finished fourth.
