John Schneider, who played Bo Duke in the hit comedy drama, says he would love to&nbsp;resurrect the series but claims Warner Bros. has refused to do a deal.
The actor, now 64, says the Hollywood producers are concerned about the controversial flag being used, due to its links with racially motivated violence.
But the country music star insists the General Lee a customised 1969 Dodge Charger - must roar back with the "good ol' boys", as Waylon Jennings's theme tune referenced.
Confirming his hopes with original co-stars Catherine Bach, 70, and Tom Wopat, 72, to bring back the show, he&nbsp;said:
"Sadly, Warner Bros has complete control of that. And while they feel the source material, meaning the Dukes, is too valuable to sell - because I've offered to buy it on many occasions they also feel it's too controversial to do anything because of the flag.
"And if they insisted that the flag come off in order to do the show, then we couldn't do the show - the audience would demand that it's the General Lee."
He added: "I believe if they ever do want to sell the rights and disassociate themselves with Dukes, but still allow someone else to run with it, then I am the first one waiting." Warner Bros first removed the flag from models of the car back in 2015.
