Chris Hayward, policy chairman of the City of London Corporation, came to Greater Manchester to meet leaders of the city's thriving fintech sector.
He met civic and business leaders including Manchester city council leader Bev Craig and bosses from companies including law firm DLA Piper, insurer Marsh, investment manager Vanguard and Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce.
Mr Hayward is also on the board of lobby group TheCityUK - which this week issued a manifesto for GM mayoral candidates urging them to help financial and professional services sectors.
