'Bedlam' fears as homes get go-ahead

RESIDENTS say a new housing development will be 'bedlam' for their street as it doesn't have enough parking spaces.

A planning application for 50 new homes based on land at Regatta Street in Salford was approved by the city council's planning committee last week.

It will see 36 three-bedroom homes and 14 four-bedroom homes built on the site, which is currently not in use.

The developer hopes to use the area to create a new 'close-knit community' on the banks of the River Irwell, and deliver 'positive economic, social and environmental impacts for the area.
